Deano should start with these in their "recognised" positions - siggy striker, peszko on the pitch, Batth centre half wth macalinden & Cassidy on the bench. much better than those playing recently then we may spring a surprise. manager must go in may or if relegated before to give us best chance of knowledgable manager coming in without his hands being tied behind his back on recruiting & ridiculous financial constraints. Deano, MUST NOT change to 4-5-1 as it will invite hull to come at us,

Fancied starting a discussion about favourite wolves teams (let's see how many current players are in people's teams, haha)

Mine is:

Murray

Irwin
Lescott
Craddock
Naylor

Jarvis
Ince
Cameron
Rae

Miller
Ebanks-Blake (championship version, he wasn't as good in the prem)

Anyone else?

Murray

Luznhy
Lescott
Pollet
Camara

Sinton
Osborn
Dinning
Gobern

Ketsbia
Akinbiyi

Probably a little older than some contributors on here: so I would definitely have the Doog in my side and the immaculate Frankie Munro. In the 60s, we have a full back called Joe Wilson. Not the most skilful, but as hard as granite. I bunked off school to watch a reserve team game once and someone threw a bottle at him. He picked it up and threw it back!

I like all those too even if they did only play limited parts (some).

Hennesey
Luzhny
Newton
Iwelumo
Iversen
N'dah

And the one an only steve bull

Manchester City slipped two divisions and it didn't do them a lot of harm. Fulham slipped down two divisions and are back rooted in the Premiership. As did Norwich City more recently. And Southampton.

Whilst of course, I desperately do not want two successive relegations, I don't think it will be end of the world. We'd lose a lot of the dead wood and large contracts, but hopefully keep the ones that have impressed (Sigg, Doherty and Danny Batth mainly). Cass has already proved that he can set Div1 on fire whilst at Tranmere.

Out of darkness cometh an entire re-build hopefully

I was talking to someone who works at the Mol today. He's worried to death about losing his job. He's been there about 15 years but is expecting to be made redundant if the Wolves are relegated. To the average supporter relegation is a "disaster", but to the workers (and they are not that well paid) relegation is a genuine disaster where they could lose their houses.
A lot of people at Molineux need to have a good hard look at themselves. But to be honest, I think a lot of people at Molineux really don't give a toss about anyone but themselves

I said something along those lines mid season, the amount of teams that have come from being so low down to being high up is enormous and we mustn't be too disheartened by possible relegation

Only one manager could save us from this situation. Super Mick McCarthy!

Brilliant suggestion. Let's re-hire the man who caused us all our current problems with his awful signings and then giving the lazy prima donnas overpaid, long term contracts. Yes, let's get him back; he didn't quite finish us off as a football club yet but he's certainly well capable of doing so. Suicide is such an under rated hobby.

It's because of him were in this mess with his average players and hoof ball

Yes but he was superb in this league with us, with pretty much the same team, it was only once we got up he got found out. I don't recall many people moaning about him when we were winning this league. Look at Ipswich, when Mick went there I believe we were in the top 6 and they were bottom with 13 points, now look above us solid at the back and hard to beat oh thoses were the days.

Really? The most successful manager at the Wolves in my 30 odd years? He didn't give the players the contracts either, I'm pretty sure that would have been down to the club.

Some of you seem to forget that about the players he signed that went on to bigger things, and the players we lost at the end of last season and through injury. I wonder where we would be this season with Matt Murray, Stephen Fletcher and Matt Jarvis for just 3.

Had Mick stayed ok we'd have more than likely gone down but would we be in this position now with the players we have? I REALLY don't think so.

I really hope Mick gets Ipswich at least to the playoffs next season and even better promoted, may shut all the haters up once and for all. He's no longer responsible for the situation we are in, he was relived of that responsibility the moment he drove out the gates. HE could get the best out of what HE wanted, the club chose to remove him and with that his input over what happened finished.

End of story, move on Mick haters and stop living in the past.

Fed up of the lies. We were told nobody came in on loan because we had to offer them a contract at the end of it.
What about somebody like Powell at Man Utd. Not in the 1st team yet but 1 for the future. Surely the chance of competitive championship football would have benefited all. That's only 1 name, there must be many others if you look hard enough. Again, no ambition.
GET MOXEY OUT.

15 Apr 2013 17:41:44
Why do we still continue not to play a rm in rm. yes siggys been doing well there but if he is going to lay him upfront we have hammil pezsko! And Dicko who all play rm but we play hunt? Doesn't make sence anyone now why hammil and pezsko even Dicko haven't really been played along with doumbia?

15 Apr 2013 17:02:41
i like saunders he seems a nice guy, and i'm sure he would be better than solbakken, but the players are now the problem, people like johnson and ohara have crippled team spirit, we only beat teams like chelsea man u man city without them. since stearman went to ipswich they have kept 10 clean sheets in 13 games, just goes to show

A bit of both, I think Saunders is a disaster on legs but I also accept that the players have let the club down big time - and not just the two you have mentioned. Something is really very wrong and until it is sorted things won't change, let's start with direction management and motivation.

He's been here half a season, as Solbakken was, and brought in half the points Solbakken did. Is that the sign of a better manager now?

15 Apr 2013 17:00:06
siggy has only scored 1 or 2 goals from up front all season, he is no good with his back to goal, agree he is good running at players so should be out on the wing or cam, up front he looks lost

As you maybe able to tell, strikers aren't getting any service hence no goals!

15 Apr 2013 16:50:26
Accept that we are going down, I watched them train yesterday at Compton while walking my dog and they were all there laughing and joking with each other as if they were top of the league (Saunders included). These players and managers don't care one bit as there is no clause in their contracts this year to say their wages will be cut if they go down as this was not expected.
Lets accept this now and move on with the young players (Batth, Dougherty, Davis, Winall, etc). Play them for the remaining fixtures and then we will have something to build on next season in Championship 1. Leave Ward, Henry, Ohara, Johnson, Foley, Berra to train with Kids, they were not good enough in the Premier Div and they have shown that they are not good enough in the championship. Blame them and not the board, these are the players that have got us in this mess, NOT steve Morgan. Moxey has done his job as we are financialy sound, but these players have just taken there money for to many years now without any pride and passion for this great club. Would you have ever seen Bully, Mutch, Dennison, Downing, Street, play with such a lack of pride as this bunch of useless footballers, I don't THINK SO!
We were the laughing stock last season and we are the laughing stock again this season and this rest with muppets above.

If we're in the Blame Game let's start at the top. Morgan and Moxey were out of thier depth at Prem level, are out of their depth at Championship level and I would argue will be out of their depth at League 1 level - we'll know soon enough I guess. These guys are not football men - period.

There are only four of the youngsters who are in any way proven to do battle at League 1- Batth, Doherty, Davis and Cassidy - not exactly a team there, and with the (necessary) number of exits at the end of the season we need real football acumen to rebuild a team let alone a squad.

Finally re Moxey's financial ability - really? Projected loss of £6.5m for the coming year. You don't have to be Portsmouth to do a Portsmouth, I don't believe we'll be all that far from finding this out under the current regime.

wolfshead.

Who does everybody prefer?
Agree for Saunders' work horses or disagree for Solbakken's type of team

Neither

Agree with post 2

you mean Lakshmi Mittal who is already a part owner of QPR?

Today's the day football rivalry is put to one side and every football fan should remember the 96 women, children and men that went to a game of football and never came home

R. I. P

Totally agree, any wolves fan who was at Hillsborough a few years earlier witnessed Spurs fans having to be moved from that end of the ground. At our end it was the most uncomfortable I have been at a match ever. God bless them all.

15 Apr 2013 15:59:05
Come on people let's be real Morgan and moxey are not on the pitch these so called players just aren't good enough they are to blame 100% not anybody else, we have invested very poorly which was mainly down to McCarthy and as for solbaken he had to go. I am not giving saunders my backing yet but he has changed a back 4 that we all said needed changing 3-4 seasons ago none of the other mangers have done that so IMO Deano has done all he could to keep us up with a bunch of over payed players that have hardly deserved a weeks wage this season between them. Ifs and buts aren't going to get us anywhere so let's support what ever 11 that are on the pitch with our all and let's show the players the passion that they should be showing and hopefully get the 3 points against hull

15 Apr 2013 10:48:28
Right I'm not saying Saunders is any good or anything and I don't agree other people wanting SS back also our position is shocking but.

We could be in the final of the FA cup 2nd in the prem semis of champions league/Europa league could eathier have messi benzema ronaldo rvp xavi iniesta with mourinho as manager and most of you would still go d something to moan about my point is most of you are fickle or just love a moan me I'm just a fan who supports my team no matter who's in the squad or the manager is let's just say IF Saunders came here and won 12/13 matches you would say he's great stop moaning for the sake of moaning no fan is happy where we are and how we have fallen

I just don't want him here. He's not my cup of tea and never has been. His football is crap and his interviews are embarrassing.

But he hasn't won 12/13 games has he? He's not proving himself to be a good manager, he's embarrassing to listen to and he's tactically inept. Total clear out on 5th May. P45's to all the players who haven't given a toss over the last 2 seasons. Director of Football signed with in a week of the end of the season. Jackie MacNamara signed as manager, Alex Rae in the backroom. Get the kids through and try to get back into the Championship.

It's alright you saying get behind the team, but that's just it! It's not a team it's a group of individuals who I think have gone past caring, saunders is worse than Connor in front of the media, and all this costs me a lot of money each week! We should be competitive but we are not, if we were the club would have everyone's support, but to be honest the club at present doesn't deserve much!

15 Apr 2013 10:33:17
I am praying you win tomorrow to boost out title chances but I reckon you can stay up anyway. It is a tragedy you are in this position but if and when you stave off relegation, there is one thing you know you have to do. And that's coming from a fellow Welshman

Redbird

Wish I had half your optimism - thanks.

Morgan won't sell till his building projects in the area are completed. P. J.

15 Apr 2013 08:42:52
e&s are doing a poll, will wolves stay up or go down, I said we are going dowm 87%has said the same thing. morgan, out moxey out, deano out, deadwood out, I hope these rumours about tata are true but I doubt it

87% of how many?

15 Apr 2013 08:30:06
Can anyone tell me why Dumbo signed Dicko on loan after saying that he would only sign players who would improve the team. He hasn't played him. Another bizarre contradiction!

I said before he signed him that it would just be another bum on the bench and look what happened. He's got no confidence in changing anything.

Saunders must go

This is not a new rant but something I have been saying from the minute the announcement was made he was to be our manager.

We are all aware of the statistic about us possibly (most likely) being the first team to be relegated twice in successive seasons but what will make it worse is that this would be Clowno's second successive relegation

Moxey must also be shown the door as he is the chief architect of our woes

This is what Moxey has done wrong since Christmas 2011

1) not stood up to the boo boys and ran with Steve Bruce
2) not shown such lack of ambition to frighten of Curbishly
3) appointed TC because he had no plans and thought cheap
4) sacked or backed Solbakken, he started one but finished the other, why appoint but not back or why appoint then not back
5) appointed Clowno, from one inexperienced appointment to one who claim to fame was relegation, again cheap
6) not backing Clowno in the transfer or loan windows, if he was not to be trusted why point him
7) not having a big enough pair of balls to think if we spend some money perhaps we may survive, but Jez thought let's do it by the skin of our teeth instead, Weak, week, weak

Saunders

Fact - Birmingham, Sheffield Wednesday and Ipswich were all lower than us when Solbakken was sacked, the team have got worse, the tactics are wanting if there are any, those players that were playing half decent have got worse, in summary, the only way Clowno is taking Wolves is down.

On the evidence of what we have seen the only benefit of relegation will be that some of the prima donnas will move on but most likely be old at a loss meaning even less money for new players (where has the Jarvis, fletcher, kitely money gone) meaning a new fresh squad of third division players and going on what I have seen please don't think we could get promotion next year with Clowno.

Enough of a rant but this would be my plan

1) order 1 taxi for Clowno and Moxey, save money on one fare
2) appoint a director of football (and new CEO)
3) spend some money and get a good manager, unfortunately our choices are like our position going down, for me it would be either Coyle, Warnock, Brown
4) tell any of the above, get us to the premier league and you get a £2mil bonus and the sack, then appoint a premier league quality manager

As regards the rumours about Tata wanting to buy Wolves, please tell me why the hell you would want to

Sack Saunders in the morning

If we lose tomorrow I think it'll start to turn nasty sadly. Downo has to go. We can't afford to keep him any longer.
