David Platt leaves Manchester city to take wolves job. Possibility?

That would be good

Hard to be sure. Don't know too much about him. Great player, although not a leader-type of player. He has worked with some of the biggest egos in English football though.

Love this to be true

Forest fan here - keep reading about Steve McClaren and David Platt rumoured to be in the running for the managers job. Take it from us, you don't want either.
Platt spent 13 million on 3 italians that rarely played, got rid of the remaining players from the Clough era because he knew better and generally did not have a clue on a Saturday afternoon. McClaren took a decent team, brought non-entities to the club ie Miller, Derbyshire, Greening that were crap and nearly got us relegated.
They have both worked as a number 2 and been succesful in that role, but when they are in charge, they cannot lead.

Having read the majority of web sites on fans views about the next manager and the various polls undertaken on such and in newspapers, to me the fans choice is between Coyle and McClaren.

Although we don't own the club, or manage it like a CEO we are all knowledgeable about the game and having watched the team for so many seasons can see the problems that need fixing.

So if the two M's appoint someone else like Jackett, Davis or Ferguson as they think they fit the mould where does that leave us fans.

1) Carrying on regardless and support the club because we are used to being treated like sh*t

or

2) Lingering in the back ground waiting for a failure so we can ponce and start a chorus of boos and negative chanting

or

3) Sat at home on match days waiting until the next reincarnation of our club once we have hit rock bottom

Personally, I do hope that we appoint someone who the fans can immediately engage with, I think that those in the Coyle camp would support McClaren and vica versa, but I do think others managers would bring that togetherness we will need next year immediately distancing the 12th player.

So the message to the two M's is simple, listen to the fans, this is your opportunity to redeem yourselves

Did that 12 month's ago with Bruce and listening then cost us all.

Wolves are knowledgeable-since when? They are the most fickle fans around, and are part of the problem.

We engaged with Solbakken but look how easily we lost faith! EBW

Number 2. It is an urban myth about Wolves fans stopping Bruce getting the Wolves job. He was never offered the job because he was too expensive and wanted to bring an army of back room staff. Wolves couldn't afford him! According to the Sunday Times, Bruce has earned £14 million from his various clubs. Is he worth it? Well, you decide.
Number 3. Please spread your bile elsewhere. Can't resist a cheap shot, can you?

Agree, we think we are knowledgeable! Listen to some right tripe form our knowledgeable fans.

Also, we don't know what goes on behind closed doors. A few things get leaked by so called insiders, but is it the truth. Heard a few things about Martin O'Neil this week from somebody I trust but it is only via 3 other people who all put their own slant on things.

Silly question, his he worth it when took hull up to premier, cause he his worth it with all the money hull will get now, I supose martinez his a bad manager because wigan have gone down, all managers are only human, even the great managers get the bullet look when we sacked cullis, look when clough got the bullet, let's give the wolves board a chance and get behind whoever they choose, because I for one want to get behind them this time instead of knocking them most of the time and get this club back to were it belongs, coyle, mclaren, jackette, and warnock are not bad managers who have been mentioned with the position we are in, and they are all out to prove something and get back to were they belong in the top league again and what a place to get back with managing wolves, so come on fans let's get behind them whoever they choose. wolfy

Ohara should stop at wolves 100% because he has been our best player by far this season and he is prem quality

Another S##t fan on our site. P. J.

Are you having a laugh he is a waste of space get rid of his ego now.

I agree I think he had been terrific all season and is fit to wear the shirt. He was brilliant at Brighton and that is not a joke {Ed001's Note - or is that just because you are the original poster trying to continue your wind up? It would seem likely, as you just so happen to have the exact same IP address as the original poster.....}

Two years ago maybe. Just maybe.

Gotta laugh at some of the stuff on here.
People forget admin of sites can see ip addresses.

Wot about giving david platt he's first chance as head coach he's got a good understanding of the game and maybe he cojld get. us playing some good attacking exciting football {Ed001's Note - wasn't he in charge of Forest a few years back?}

Think he's got problems in corrie having fit's, haha

No to David Platt-dreadful manager at Forest-gravy train passenger at MCFC-useless in the media

Why on earth would you want David Platt as your new manager
I have supported Forest for over 35 years and can honestly say he is the worst manager we have ever had
He very nearly took us into bankruptcy with his 13 million pound spending on Italian players
Good luck in your quest for a new manager
Forever red

David platt. Sign him up.

Fits the bill. Not sure he'd come and how much do we really know about him?

Remember a FA cup semi final defeat against Arsenal. At the end David Platt came over a applauded Wolves fans. Always liked him since then. But do we want somebody who could only get a team to second place in EPL :)

The truth is that wolves are building up a short list and approaching those coaches that have shown an interest in "managing " us in league 1. The bookies are guessing as much as anyone and the fluctuation in odds show this, There is no need to appoint anyone yet, Players and agents, are on holiday, or at least those that we are in the market to buy or sell. Don't panic the next appointment is crucial and not to be rushed.

You can only pick a coach on who wants to come to wolves, we are only in div. 1, so beggers can't be choosers, of the list I would go for mclaren, coyle, jacket or even warnock who has a great record of getting teams up and i'm afraid that's were we are at, wether you like it or not, or do you take a gamble with a up and coming young manager the choice his yours wolves fans, I just want a manager who gets we playing good football, not players we have had who just run all day and put a shift in, will not pay money to watch that type of player, want wolves to get it right this time, and be proud of my beloved football team, let's move these players on now who let our football team down badly. wolfy

Some very mixed opinions of who our next manager should be. Whoever gets the job I will be right behind them. We don't want another Steve Bruce fiasco 'no no no we don't want him' : 6 months later- " should have had Steve Bruce "

I'm not a massive fan of McClaren mainly because of the famous interview where he tried to speak Dutch and his failure with England. Having said that we are punching well above our league 1 position to be attracting a manager of his quality. Yes the man seems to be a dick but his has worked with the best Man U, england and turned Borough into a great team while he was there. Even as much as I think the man is a berk he will be great for us as he will rebuild the club from bottom up and do it with the youth team. If Morgan can pull this off all is forgotten.

I can forgive him for speaking "dutch". And failing with England is no bad thing - quite a few managers have done that lately, alegedly the best managers in the game too.

Managing England and managing Wolves are quite different propositions.

Megson would be the best manager the Wolves will ever have. He would sign some fantastic players and some good tactics M&M should appoint Megson NOW please. UTW

Me suspects a bored baggie {Ed001's Note - or a Wednesday fan, a lot of them love Megson, for some reason.}

Good one

Are u off your rocker mate
