The defeat to Bolton this weekend is a big one. To lose to a lackluster, struggling team in a pretty dominant manner is a big worry. It's been an extremely poor start to the campaign; 6 amateur displays and a few fortunate cup performances. Wholesale changes are required; not necessarily hitting the panic button. We need a proven Championship striker. We need an experienced center-back. We need to choose a goalkeeper and give him a resounding vote of confidence; chopping and changing is never going to be productive.

It pains me to say it, but Kenny's position is beginning to look shaky. We need to consider; can we currently achieve promotion? The answer is undeniably no. So what do we need to change. One infuriating thing about Jackett is his hesitance to use any substitutes. He's also begun to make bizarre omissions, for instance McDonald from the entire squad yesterday. Dicko too was bizarrely playing second fiddle to Afobe, often coming off early. We must ensure that our decisions of change are more constructed. But if Jackett is not the man to get us up, there are candidates out there - Big Sam has been mentioned. Would bring stability and character but also perceived turgid football (though it can't be worse that the current performances). Yet he has a proven track record and one of English football's finest CV's ( not to mention the inevitable signing of now free agent Kevin Nolan! )I believe we give Kenny 9 more games - that culminating in an away trip to Birmingham we'll get a final, clear picture. In that spell we play Middlesbrough, Derby and Brighton - teams we must compete with. If come October we're still off the pace, we'll know it's not a blip - like December last year, which narrowly cost us promotion. If we are back in the hunt come October, I'll gladly tuck into some humble pie.

There is another candidate who has taken a team to the Premier League and kept them up playing decent football. I don't like the man but his record at Leicester speaks for itself. Not a yes man though so the board would never appoint him anyway. Really hope KJ turns it around and the next 3 games will show us a lot.

{Ed001's Note - I would think Pearson's attitude of being a complete bell with a racist son would be more of a problem than his not being a yes man. Obviously some people think a thug who condones racism is ok so long as he wins games.}

Don't know if I'd call Nigel Pearson Premier League-quality. He did have that miraculous escape with Leicester (and yes I know he was on the old enemy's coaching staff too) but by that account, Paolo Di Canio is also a Premier League-quality boss!

Best right back. On the bench
Best goalkeeper. On the bench
Best centre midfielder. On the bench
Best centre half. Sold.
Second best striker. Out for season.
Left side midfielder. Haven't got one

This clearly isn't all kennys fault. But something has/// is going wrong somewhere.

Good comment coselyglenn and like I get fed up of saying even with all those players in the team we were still short of promotion last year so what did you expect to happen this year with weaker side because the2m's have let we down again .
To me they have 2 very clear options invest or sell the club and let someone take the club forward,we thank you Mr.Morgan for all the building work you have invested in but can you now get someone in to invest in the playing side like SIR JACK DID.

The problem for wolves lies at Morgan & kj's door- Morgan invested lots in academy cause been told youth is the future which I can understand but u also need experience to help youth and experience costs good £ now before us Morgan wanted Liverpool so how much did he intend to invest in their team because sure it be more than we require so why so hard spend on wolves first team surely if u want success u would do everything u could to get players in & why so slow following up on targets - now for kj when and why we playing a formation that just not working why change from last season IT WORKED why have we not replaced sako it so obvious we missing key part of the jigsaw &now we need proven fwd but knowing way we operate will miss all targets also why can't he stop fiddling with selection we need settled team not chop change every week ONLY CHANGE IF HAVE TO we crying out for leader now steers gone but don't see anyone strong enough for job we falling behind already how long till we can't even get playoff place actions speak louder than words so wolves ACT NOW your really testing us loyal fans patiance

Just a few points I'd like to make people

1.van la parra

Okay VLP might not be everyone's cup of tea but last season he formed a very good partnership with afobe, dicko, sako now between these 4 there was 28 assist, 45 goals, VLP 10 assists&2 goals, sako 7 assists&15 goals, dicko 6 assists&15 goals, afobe 5 assists 13 goals, okay dicko out for season&sako left but afobe and VLP are still here so surely between those 2 they would create enough and Score enough so why is VLP sitting on the bench?

2.kevin McDonald

Macca got left out due to being out form yesterday but oh boy we missed him he got 12 assists last season but him coady have a good understanding coady sitting and holding and kmac going forward and plus he keeps us ticking over by keeping the ball moving and and a quick tempo he can also pick a killer pass ever going over top find someones fit in a pocket of space and through ball and switching play and we missed yesterday badly not just keeping the ball but also going forwards as like I've said he can pick up the ball and create things and I'm expecting him to start Saturday after this

3.Dave Edwards

Okay edo works hard and chips in for few goals but he shouldn't be captain and starting at this minute in time we should be playing 4231 Henry on the right VLP on the left afobe behind Alfie kmac& coady holding with coady as captain as I think he would be a good leader unless he's going to play behind the striker he shouldn't be playing

4. Kenny jackett

Personally Kj shouldn't be sacked and he won't be, now people keep going on about Morgan and moxey won't spend the money well, did anyone see what Kj came out and said we have no 2m pound caption on transfer fees and wolves have NO written rule on how much MONEY we can spend and we have made bigger bids for than that for players but have been unsuccessful we take it player by player after reading this I don't think it's Morgan and moxey that are being Cheap I think they would spend the money on someone who's worth 5m if he's going to create and score goals I just think it's Kj he doesn't wanna spend that sort of money so we look that sort of club again but if he can spend that sort of money he should be!.

Good post Matt. Certainly appreciated by me.

Frustration is a great springboard onto the bandwaggon for some.

Agree with 4231. It's a crime we have to drop one of McDonald, Coady and Edwards. And that's before we think about Price. Would love Kenny to prove me wrong, though.

Totally agree with you Matt. I suspect Kj just doesn't want to spend the money on mediocrity and rightly so. He has a budget he needs to work to, which might hinder him to a degree, but we need a reinforcement or two as the current squad, which is minus Sako & now Dicko, is nowhere near as strong as last year
