Do any if these Prem rumours have any strong backing? Surely no player from any of the Prem clubs will want to join wolves? Just seems obvious. I think it would be better to go abroad personally and find some quality instead of playing around with hit or miss stars of the past (Cole etc) look at Sako and Pez. The class is over seas gentlemen.

Over seas went out of the window when Solbakken was sacked. Dont expect to be looking abroad any where near as much.

Supposedly we have full time scouts in France. Hopefully they've found someone Newcastle and Arsenal have missed.

if we lose next week against sheff wed then we are right in the relegation mix

If we lose next week, we should call for the managers head, it's obviously cheaper to sack the manager than clear the no mark players who got SS sacked out of the club...

Since this Cole rumour has come around you all seam to be saying he was rubbish when he was on loan to us. Can i just remind you that was in 02-03 10 years ago! so he was 19/20. He scores an average of 1 goal every 4 games. Am i right in saying that you all expect Siggy to improve? so why do you think if Cole was to come he'd be rubbish again? Who knows he might even have a point to prove. Lets just say i prefer him to that 35 YO we were linked with last week!

With all the strikers that have been mentioned I can't believe no-one has suggested we put in a loan bid for Daniel Pacheco, from what I've seen of the guy he's got alot of talent and would probably tear the championship defences apart. Any opinions?

He's been out on loan a couple of times and made little impact.

He endeared himself to the Norwich fans the year they went up - why would they laud him if he was ineffective??

I agree. I've got a mate who's a Norwich fan and he reckons that Pacheco was outstanding, not just scoring a couple of really important goals in their promotion winning season but his vision and movement is excellent.

You'd think that DS would still have some contacts at Liverpool, I think this rumour could go on for a bit! I would love it if it came true.

He was sent to Rayo with a view to being offloaded and never scored in over 10 games. They didn't buy him.

Why do Wolves take so long to sign players, almost two weeks into the window and nothing. Good old Moxey and Morgan. Couldnt organise a piss up in a brewery!

Solbakken had three or four players lined up. Given his track record with transfers they'd probably be really good. BUT the new manager will need to decide whether they are the type of players he wants to bring in. That's why there's no action to date. Who we sign in this window will be the acid test of whether Saunders has got what it takes - remember MM blew £48M on mainly mediocre players (perhaps SM doesn't need to be reminded of that).

Why do people slate ward and foley? I think they both did quite well ward supported sako well and both made few defensive mistakes. Also, Johnson and Berra make a good partnership if you are going to buy a cb it has to impove the team, batth and margrieter are not good enough and it would be stupid to put him in ahead of either cb or rj. I would send both out on loan to save wages and buy one experienced cb for cover. We need a lb and keep ward for cover. Zubar should be moved on he was defensively awful Friday only good going forward so either play him rw or not at all with foley behind one of our many wingers.

Zubar not played for months, Ward is crap every week. Ward offers nothing, he can't defend and is useless going forward. At least Zubar offers something in attack, it's a pity he doesn't shoot from range more often.

Foley just runs around and achieves zero.

I disagree wards link up play with sako was really good.

Never really made any impact anywhere he's been on loan. Has a bad attitude.

I'm a man united and wolves supporter, macheda is absolutely hopeless and will go to a crappy spanish team.
seriously never mention machedas nam again!

Can't find anything on English sites, however on a Brazilian Wolves site (yes - there is one) they're saying that Dean Saunders could be in trouble with the FA about the comments he made saying that the young linesman gave the penalty so his family could see him on TV.
Anyone know if there is any truth in this? {Ed011's Note - I saw this on the Sun Sport page, apparently he suggested that the linesman only gave the penalty and some offsides so he'd get on TV so his family could see him:

“He probably told his family he is on and running the line. You don’t get anything to do in the cold.
“So you give a couple of offsides and ‘camera will go on my face’ and the family know I was there!”

I wasn't questioning if he had said it or not (the E & S said he had so it must be true). I wanted to find out if there is any truth in the rumour that the FA are taking action.

I saw the game but I thought it was more about the Referee making a name for himself - he just wanted a bit of limelight. He would not let the game flow, he was late making decisions which made the players frustrated towards the end of the game so they started to have a pop at each other - ITS A FUNNY OLD GAME !
