curbs record as manager
38.52 as sole manager of charlton
40.85 as manager of WHU
after 2nd promotion he guided charlton to a high of 7th n a low of 14th

13 Feb 2012 22:37:56
IMO I think this list of managers would be great for wolves.
Curbishly,
Hughton,
Clarke,
Holloway.
I wouldn't really be disappointed with either of these hughton was harshly sacked from Newcastle so he could do a good job here. Hollaway very attack minded. Clarke he might sign Rhodes.lol. Curbs old experienced boss.

Whats David O'Leary up to now,not a bad bloke.

You are having a laugh not!

Clarke from chelski will nver come but bieng a no 1 you never no curbs for me {Ed001's Note - he must mean Lee Clarke from Huddersfield, as Steve Clarke, ex-Chelsea, is number 2 at Liverpool right now and so would not be likely to bring Rhodes from Huddersfield with him......}

Correct ed .

13 Feb 2012 22:34:11
morgan says they would take curbs (see E&S) we will find out in the next few days he's the only man the fans want well 90% of em id say

13 Feb 2012 22:19:19
Steve Morgan comments on SSN website that Curbishley is the calibre of manager they are looking for and is quite keen on him

13 Feb 2012 21:57:28
What person keeps posting about money. We're on a stable footing unlike some teams. Would you really want to be brought out by a consortium? Or someone else.... Look at how rangers have gone today? Fickle fans some people!! Back the team! We were shocking yesterday but it's not the owners fault!
We've got a solid base! Stop being so ignorant
Wolvesinsider

Insider, you say it's not the owners' fault. So they, in effect Morgan, are out of this loop, blameless? You can and should be challenged on that. Transfer funds were halved last summer compared to the previous two. We should have moved on then - we didn't, Mick's fault? Ok, we get Bassong but on the twelfth hour of the last day of the transfer window. Yet the "owners" ran a huge risk on midfield - depending on O'Hara and Edwards both injury prone, sending Guedioura on loan to Forest to season end with no come back, throw in Henry's red card and Frimpong's cruciate and you have what we got on Sunday - a mess.
Tell you what, the solid base that you claim we have came more from Mick's efforts with the team than anyone's financial management and it will be interesting to see how solid it will stay over the coming time.

I accept your comments but....
The fact Henry went out on loan would have been a managerial decision. Someone within the club would have been informed of an approach from notts forest and mick would have agreed. Or mick would have made the decision and offered him about.
You say about transfer funds.... If you look at the gross spending of English clubs in the transfer window it dramatically fell! Now some fans think that our club is vastly CASH wealthy.... This isn't the case no. Although our owner is very wealthy the majority of his fortunes are tied up in a business that is in the middle of recession. However by building the stadium up and not breaking wage limits, we are going to be on a better financial footing going forward.
I know some fans will say what's the point of building the stadium for the championship. The PL is the toughest league around! Who would have guessed Owen coyles Bolton would be sitting second bottom and Swansea and Norwich would be around mid table? It's unpredictable but that's why we watch football.
Anyway the point is that banks aren't lending money and believe it or not loans usually are the way for smaller clubs to buy! No bank loan + no liquid cash = a tighter transfer budget.
I'd rather see wolves scrapping around than bought by a middle easy consortium that could just try to be better than we are.
Look at Blackburn all there fans were shouting around thinking they were the next Manchester united! However it's not always the case!
Wolvesinsider

Insider thanks for coming back. It gets circular from this point on, because if no bank loan + no cash = tight transfer budget, then why and how do we fund a stadium redevelopment if finances were so tight. I discussed this one with Ed 001 a couple of weeks ago, but I remain convinced that the stadium did two things
1) sucked in the thick end of £20m, so far, choking of funding for team development
2) distracted too much managerial attention from matters on the field, in effect became the cuckoo in the nest.

Like Arnhem, it was a bridge too far, much too ambitious a project for a club with only a tentative hold in the Prem. Let's hope we survive this to learn the lesson. We are, as always, wolves.

Have I missed something - Henry out on loan?

My bad mate. Adelene!!
The stadium development cash is easier to gain hold of because it is guaranteed to generate future revenues! We'd all live new players but it's not always greener on the other side

Id love 2c ray wilkins and curbishley dream partnership tell me wot u think

If Curbishley comes he will bring Mervyn Day in as his number 2,hes been everywhere with him.Ipersonally don't think hes right for Wolves.

13 Feb 2012 20:09:24
This is a real chance for morgan and moxey to get it right for wolves.
For me there can only be 2 options.. Curbishley and Wilkins or Houghton and Wilkins.

13 Feb 2012 19:23:46
Good 'gen' Warnock turned down Leeds
rumour has it he was and is monitoring
the situation at Wolves for a quick
return to the Prem' ,he has the bottle
for the job but would he take the plunge?

Please god noooooooooooo!

13 Feb 2012 19:00:10
How many more times do you have
to explain it? Moxey DOES NOT
control the money-that is Morgan
who has to put up or shut up
Sell up to a consortium
so we can bloody well compete. And
be prepared for the sting in the tale,
McCarthy goes to Leeds and takes
them up through the play-offs as
Wolves go down. There is no chance
of Hughton coming to Wolves.
Curbishley is the best of the realistic
candidates.

13 Feb 2012 18:06:37
MM,just wasn't upto the prem' challenge,a thoroughly honest and decent guy though,I wanted him out,but still sad he had to be pushed.........good luck Mick.

13 Feb 2012 17:59:12
fabio capello should apply for the job

In our dreams Zzzzzzzz

13 Feb 2012 17:32:06
The perfect solution is this: Alan Curbishley in as manager on a long term contract and Ray Wilkins in as assistant manager or as part of the coaching staff which would indefinitely be the best combination possible for us to progress as a club and finally become the side we are supposed to be by this stage.

If this happens, I will quite happily back the board 100% regardless of who we end up signing if we stay up in the summer because these are the kind of men which get the best out of their players. UTW!

13 Feb 2012 17:26:58
it is likely steve bruce or alan will be manager

Alan who ? Partridge ?

Alan suger who else could he be on about

13 Feb 2012 17:03:43
mick had to go but dont let the 2 prats morgan and moxey off the hook they are at the root of this mess we are in wish they would get out of wolves

13 Feb 2012 16:33:07
MM just left the ground and spoke to sky sports news, he was very dignified in his exit, and feel bad for slating him over last few months but prem is just a step too far for him, it got nasty toward the end which the board should take some responsibility for not being decisive earlier on, i think he would be a great acquisition for a championship side with real ambition of promotion and wish him all the best for the future, thanks for your efforts over the last 5.5 years Mick.

Heard hes being tapped up for leeds job already.

Worth reading Tim Nash's piece in the E&S, gives a bit of perspective on things.

13 Feb 2012 15:56:28
curbs till the end of the season,(make him work for a contract)hes the best thats out there has good record in prem (unlike MM)and hes come out and says he wants it,its a no brainer!
4d

Yeah it's got to be Curbishley for me. Who would he bring in as number 2?

Maybe his staff from charlton ? curbs all the way

Im not tu sure if TC will be staying on i do hope not we need a complete overhaul can anyone enlighten me?

13 Feb 2012 15:36:00
How about Stuart pearce when Harry takes england job and steve bull as no2

Look as much as Steve Bull was a gr8 player here lets leave it at that, theres no room for sentiment at the club, ambassador is as much of a role as i want SB to have.

13 Feb 2012 15:30:01
Wolves must get rid of terry oconner and Dailey to be successful

Do agree we might aswell start again regarding coaching staff, but support for new manager till the end of the season will not be a bad move IMO.
4D.

KT should stay done wonders with our youth team

13 Feb 2012 13:21:53
Im glad that mm has been sacked due to recent run of form. But we must remember he got us their and also kept us up for two seasons. I think it was definatley the right decision to make. My next manager would be Rafa Bentiez

13 Feb 2012 12:36:15
Thank you mick for getting us to the prem shame it was good enough top bloke

13 Feb 2012 12:18:29
Alan Curbishley wants the Wolves job, need I say more?

Anyone doubting his ability to lead us to safety and to make us a force to be reckoned with then listen up. Curbishley has managed two premier league clubs, West Ham and Charlton. He guided Charlton to their highest ever premier league finish at 7th and once he left over speculation of getting the England Job (Which he even had an interview for) the following two successive seasons after Curbishley left they got relegated TWICE.

After his success at Charlton, he was appointed manager of West Ham who were looking certain for relegation he led them to SEVEN out of NINE wins at the end of the season in order to survive. The following season they finished 10th and in his last season (2008-09) despite winning 2 out of the first 3 games of the season he left the club because he was unhappy over the transfer policy.

I'm sorry but any Wolves fan has to support Curbishley as being the only candidate for the job. He even said no when SSN asked him whether he would manage England! This is the man for the job, not Bruce or Warnock.

Thank you for that i now agree with you new coaches has well please

Just pray you don't get Steve Bruce!

13 Feb 2012 12:08:06
Would like to see a management team of Gus poyet and Ray wilkins

13 Feb 2012 11:11:45
Mick has now been sacked it every where about time as well. Just a pity there isn't Amy decent managers left without a job.

It can not be any worst

Theres plenty of managers good enough the question is will we pay. And does this mean clip board has gone to?

13 Feb 2012 10:57:31
Mick sacked

13 Feb 2012 09:23:42
why the new stand.. Were they that short sighted to think we did not need to invest in the team.Nice new empty stand next season then lads. Why dont we buy big names, instead we get other teams FRINGE players. They CANT get into their own team Mick, thats the big clue!!!!
Whats most scarey is that we havent got a clue, no shape, no plan a,b or c. Sunday was a disgrace!
What player do you think from Wolves would walk into another premiership team, think about it!
One more thing, Hennessey is average every time ive seen him, of course he looks good sometimes, but lets face it , he is usually the busiest man on the pitch ..

Just fletcher the rest are rubbish

Henno fletch foley n a fully fit kites

Definately Fletcher, but the rest hrmmmm

13 Feb 2012 07:50:28
