I keep seeing that were linked to more midfielders with Jamie Paterson and Jonny Williams being chased again. Is it just me but I think we have to get another good defender in, If Stearman gets injured I think we would have massive problems with Batth still out and Hause (as much as I think he's a good player) just finding his feet. last couple of games and last season we were really shakey at times at the back. Might just be me but I think that's a key area that needs looking at.

Agreed ' we still need an older head in defence to steady the youngsters when under a bit of pressure,still need a winger though.

This is what Kj said about VLP after the game tonight
" Van la parra showed very good on the right hand side the last 30 minutes, after 1 or 2 problems in pre-season, and he has come back strong and it's now time for him to really build ok that and I was pleased with what he did "
That message tells me this:
1.hes very glad to have VLP back to full fitness
2.he will more than likely start against hull with Ojo on left because him Afobe dicko have good link up play along with kmac and Coady
3.he will probably be our number 1 RM
That is the message i'm getting from this to be quite honest

ok ed,no idea how they are getting on 'but Coady is playing well,he will prove to be a very good buy.

If this Ojo kid is as highly rated by Liverpool and scouts across Europe as he seems to be. then I would hope that he and Coady can help us rip a few teams up this season and set us on our way back to the prem. c.o.m.b

I don't think you can interpret KJ's comments to mean VLP will be given left midfield berth. Would be very worried if that is his intention. Hard to get much from, what was a very poor team performance against plucky but limited opposition. Inability to play through Newport was biggest concern. Our possession stats are predominantly from meaningless passing along the back four
Pace is pedestrian at best and lack of quick ball was demonstrated best when LeFondre arrived and tried to play some quick short passes with fellow forwards which didn't work because they weren't moving into clever positions. Similarly his little runs were not spotted by his team mates. From a very brief cameo Le Fondre showed that we have got to play higher up the field if we are to maximise his impact.

Wouldn't be so sure. Ojo was terrific last night; assist for Dicko's goal of course. Van La Parra did to be fair made a decent impact. But I would suggest that Edwards and Henry will get the nod this weekend. Does anybody know however, is Jed Wallace injured? Just seemed such a ridiculous call with such tight competition to play Matt Doherty on the wing. If he's not injured, what's up; he was left out of the squad all together.

Kenny often says things like that in the press but then his team selection is different. He likes Henry at the moment and Edwards is always on his radar if he can find space for him. Hard with two forwards so he played wide. We are lucky we have two players for each position now and RVLP can play number ten and Doc in midfield too. Don't know how Rowe will get back into the team.
