People on here have short memories remember Mick Mcarthy? What kind. Of squad did we have when he took over in Championship?. a bunch of kids!
Did we go straight down to Div 3?. If my memory serves me correctly he took us to the Premiership on a Shoestring budget!. Where did it go wrong?
Who took over from there?. Morgan and Moxey wake up and smell the roses, good luck Kenny you'll need it!
Huh what you on about morgan took over in 2007 we got promoted in 09 and moxey been here for 13years so wheres your logic
I don't follow.
Mick did a great job for us, but in the end we had too many players who weren't playing as well as they did in previous years. Not sure who else came in to make things worse.
KJ seems to be doing the right things so far. But we'll only know after 10 games or so how well he's really doing.
McCarthy was here 18 months too long. that's where it all started to go wrong.
Agree totaly mcarthy he was here to long, done a great job for we at the time replacing that person of a manager hoddle and built we a team from nothing, but after all what he done he reached his limits in the premier and should of been moved on, we kept these overpaid players to long on good contracts, we must not make the same mistakes again whoever was to blame for that, I am looking forward to this season under k. jacket who seams to me nows how to get this club back were it belongs if given time, the last manager nice guy that he was had not got a clue, deano looked way out his depth at wolves talking rubbish and playing rubbish, we should never make mistakes like that again. wolfy
McCathey should have been sacked
at the End of our 2nd season in the
Prem, when just escaped the drop by
the skin of our Theeth.
Yeth. I mean yes ;-)
Not only did we hang on to players for too long, we hung on to Mick for too long. The process we're going through now with KJ should have happened 2 years ago.
But then again, remember that 3rd season when we were unbeaten after 3 games and even top for about 2 hours? Who would have predicted we'd drop 40+ places in 2 years?
Can't believe your still banging on about mcCarthy - it's in the past - let it go and let's move forward.
McCarthy isn't in the past. His legacy is still with us. Didn't he sign the toxic players, on long expensive contracts, that we cannot move on?
So true. Big Mick did a great job, but he should have gone after season 2 in Prem. then we needed a hungry dynamic manager and some investment. It is hard for any club to stay in the Prem outside of the big 4. I am looking forward to games against honest teams. promotion and back to where football is more interesting than the Prem.
