Great result to be fair, if the takeover happens and the likely purchases of Spanish and Portuguese players come in then that's a real boost #COYW #WTID #WolvesAyWe.

10 Jul 2016 22:07:18
We're going to have a great team fingers crossed so now it's time to have the liquidator back!

10 Jul 2016 21:50:17
The only players I would keep is graham dicko and leave ikeme on the bench cause his distribution is terrible.

10 Jul 2016 20:55:37
how many Chinese press will there be at Molineux do you think?

10 Jul 2016 20:53:07
here is my chant for robin li to the tune of robin hood.

robin li, robin li and his pack of fans rising up the league. up the league.

edit if you want to or add to it.

10 Jul 2016 21:47:46
I'll leave it there thanks 😜.

10 Jul 2016 22:09:19
Gee if I was you I wouldn't get'rushing out to copyright that ditty.

10 Jul 2016 22:42:34
He got Morgan out, he got Morgan out, robin li s golden army.

10 Jul 2016 22:44:06
Gee mate don't give up the day job 😎.

10 Jul 2016 17:20:52
Do we think JACKETTS departure will be confirmed tomorrow? I do.

10 Jul 2016 17:59:36
Think kenny just wants to no.

The new regime will begin. But not expecting miracles. With this league.

10 Jul 2016 18:07:44
I agree Wolf money, were in for exciting times but we may have to be patient for success.

10 Jul 2016 19:02:37
The week ahead. Takeover monday aswell jackett gone.
New coach to be named same day. Tuesday confirmnation. for the new manager Wednesday conference. Thursday have 2 players friday have 3 more. Ext

I hope ha. If Carslberg did takeovers. But patient at the moment.

10 Jul 2016 19:39:28
Until its confirmed that the takeover is completed, Jackett will remain.

10 Jul 2016 20:23:54
Don't be surprised if Jackett stays in some capacity as he knows the Championship and none of the new people do. He has not appeared to be too worried about his future. If you knew that you were going to be sacked, wouldn't you be off to a new job pronto?

10 Jul 2016 20:28:33
Still under contract so won't go anywhere with out a pay off. He won't be kept on, he will def be gone before the trip to Ireland end of the week.

10 Jul 2016 15:13:03
Personally blown away by the takeover rumours and the impact it could have on our beloved club, after years of feeling disconnected and brushed aside by the board could this give the fans a voice or could it go the other way? Will are history be tarnished eg kit colour, badge, ground name, only time will tell but I for one am extremely excited about the potential takeover, I personally feel wolves as a whole needs an injection of love and the 21st century. thoughts anyone? Sorry just trying to divert us all from the endless update searchingπŸ˜‚.

10 Jul 2016 15:26:58
It still hasn't sunk in yet to think we could be a power again in Football, and if all goes to plan then we ought to thank Mr. Morgan for doing the best for our club, and honouring Sir. Jacks wishes it shows that he does care what happens to Wolves and wants to leave the club in safe hands.

10 Jul 2016 15:56:37
Totally agree D Wolf89.

There seems to be a split / evolution happening in Chinese society, between their old world that is in the hands of tradition and Communism, and a new modern Corporate China leading them all into the future, based on enterprising community (a cross between competition and communism) . The Wolf has become the modern Chinese mystical symbol for that, it literally means enterprising, competing and winning, but as a team and for the sake of the community. Apparently it's become a really big, very cool thing in China, they've had a whole culture of "wolf chic" since 2004.

And apparently those modern Corporate Chinese types and their section of society are big into conspicuous consumption, that is displaying their wealth and power, and gold has become synonymous with that. So the wolf is perfect, the colour gold is perfect (both in it's original mystical context but also modern status context) .

Then there's the hexagon border to the wolf head, and hexagon apparently symbolises completeness, 6 plains, 4 compass points + heaven and earth, or light and dark etc. Personally although I like the hexagon and think it's good on Academy stuff, I'd prefer a traditional shield on the playing shirt to demonstrate heritage. But I think the Chinese will like the Hexagon and probably keep it, it even maybe fits with Out of Darkness Cometh Light for them.

I think they'll bin Moneyshop eventually (maybe not this season as too much hassle replacing shirts but will next) , as it undermines the rest of their identity, and it has no relevance in China, their home market, or Europe, their prospective one.

So apart from sponsor, I don't believe we'll have any changes to identity at all - and that's why this is so perfect and is happening, our natural identity (and our club, town, and regions heritage) perfectly fit what they want / need, it's why they're doing this, we won't be a construct, we will be really real as ourselves, and 'real' identity is what can move mountains in markets and is worth the really big money.

Also, as the home of Industrial Revolution, with out of Darkness Cometh Light motto etc, we link perfectly to the IT revolution (Robin Li's business) , the whole thing is just a perfect marriage, and it could well mean Wolverhampton City and region, not just football club, has a really bright future. We could end up regenerated as an IT centre of excellence, which would be ace for the young people and their futures.

Only thing I wouldn't guess about is Molineux, though I see no good reason to move, their target market (for their businesses and status etc, that they are buying Wolves to be a vehicle for) must be Europe and China, so no point developing a huge new ground for a local physical audience that won't represent most of their opportunity. Molineux is heritage and in a modern world of false constructs, it becomes increasingly valuable, like Old Trafford has. If I was them, I'd keep Molineux, develop it as big as possible and develop park and ride sites to it locally and in Shrops and Staffs to fix parking, and instead focus more on remote support and virtual audiences, but who knows what they'll do with that.

I suspect our relationship will end up very similar to Man City's with their owners. We'll still have stuff to complain about, but it will be crumbs in a World where they've done us so much good and made things so right, it won't matter.

10 Jul 2016 16:14:50
I still cannot believe this is happening to Wolves and I won't until it's confirmed by the club.

10 Jul 2016 16:53:27
Ulf - Good post, decent insight in what our world could look like. We will need patience and very strong leadership on and off the park. Plenty of clubs have thrown money at it and failed miserably. Hopefully the new coach is a strong character, will play an entertaining game and ensure he has a strong team ethic and not a bunch of individuals.

10 Jul 2016 17:29:30
I'm going to guess early days, we'll be like Watford when they went for promotion and now building in Prem, with players loaned from their Euro partner club, but maybe a bit more flash.

I get the impression Robin Li is super professional and smooth, his target Manager looks like he is too, and we have so much more heritage and depth than Watford. I think it could take a few years to get ourselves up and established, as you say money isn't the only factor and things need to be done to good effect - but to me this looks so right as a picture, like a real animal naturally doing rather than a construct / piece of architecture trying, in the long run it will be an irresistible force.

The new manager is especially exciting - the fact he's been so involved in development suggests our Academy will still have an importance place and that we mean to grow success intelligently rather than just trying to buy it.

10 Jul 2016 19:12:56
Good post ulf, concerning club identity not being messed about with.

10 Jul 2016 19:21:42
Brilliant post ulf, glad I'm not the only one looking into Chinese culture and beliefs haha. research on robin li suggests he's a perfect fit to give wolves fc great status, will not settle for half a job, pushes all employees to better themselves and push the business strongly forward, as a man speaks fluent english, has an infectious positive attitude very likeable, could be a great leader for all involved at the club. his company Baidu already has a paw like symbol within its logo (actually a hand on a computer mouse) but I feel would fit perfectly as our main shirt sponsor and li would benefit from it globally also believe he might turn the corner TVs back on for advertising space or personal gain seems a no brainer to me!

10 Jul 2016 20:24:15
Excellent info D Wolf89, I hadn't looked into Baidu. It just gets better, the more insight you get the more it makes sense and in the most positive possible way. And with it being IT, we birthed the modern world with the Industrial Revolution, then it moved on and abandoned us. This is the modern World and future coming home, hopefully for the whole town :-)

Funniest insight about this I've seen is on the official West Brom forum, their thread Dingle Watch, 241 pages dedicated to all things Wolves, but last load of pages dedicated to this and why. They can't understand why us and not them, they can't see the difference between us, our wolf symbolising enterpise, team spirit, and winning, and their thrush, a metaphor for a private lady fungus :-P.

11 Jul 2016 08:37:12
Ulf - your post at 10 Jul 2016 15:56:37 was very enlightening. I imagine a lot of thought went into that. Not that I have any doubts about your post, but I hope you are right in all you say as it promotes great reasons for optimism. I shall now return to biting my nails up to my armpits as I await confirmation that the deal has gone through.

11 Jul 2016 11:13:58
I'm part Roma Gypsy (English heritage though) , my great grandmother was a proper witch lol. I've never tried to divine anything but $$$$ happens, I made a career in marketing out of 'guessing'/ 'knowing'. Since January, my head has been certain that we'd either disappear down a bottomless pit of $$$$ with no future, or we'd be delivered into a fantastic future based on our real identity and heritage, and that whichever way we went, our path was going to be determined imminently.

When Moneyshop came along I thought that was the bottomless pit of $$$$ happening and panicked, but Robin Li has now come along to pluck us from it. And he 100% exactly fits the good feeling I had about an ace modern future based on our identity. Everything I google turns up odd things that just fits into it more.

Logically I want to be cautious, think Robin Li might not buy, or I want to choose to believe if he does it will take us years to get anywhere and even then while it will be good and it won't be stella, just better than where we are. But that isn't the 'feeling' I have, the feeling I have (from same place that seemed to know this could happen) , is this is going to be brilliant. At the very least, definitely, we have loads to believe in and support again :-)

10 Jul 2016 14:22:34
This takeover talk is total rubbish. How on earth can wolves sell McDonald in the middle of a takeover. Surely it would effect the value of the purchase price that robin Li has agreed. Yet the final documents are with the football league.

10 Jul 2016 14:49:08
Maybe the Macdonald transfer talk is rubbish? The takeover is happening.

{Ed001's Note - players can be bought or sold with the agreement of the incoming owners. Man City signed Robinho while undergoing a takeover. He was actually signed by the incoming owners as a 'good faith payment' during the takeover process.}

10 Jul 2016 14:51:00
It's probably proof of how much of a done deal it is. I bet the FA have said to Robin Li's team it will be approved in a few days, it will move fast because they are important rich people offering investment into the Country, and they'll demand it's moved fast because of exchange rate volatility, they could say if the Β£ recovers they'd pull of deal, so speed is essential.

I'd bet Macca being sold is part of Robin Li's plans, and however much money he's got and wants to spend, there's no point us having players for the sake of it if he's intending to bring in other better players, and it still all needs balancing against FFP, selling now helps us in how much we will be allowed to spend going forward.

If Macca is going anyway (and I bet he would be, Robin Li will have bigger more reliable plans) , better for all parties, including Macca, that it is sooner rather than later.

10 Jul 2016 15:47:09
Don't now what all fuss about Macca don't tackle cannot head a ball and no speed okay good on ball but you need more than that in championship, and with new takeover will get far better players than him and most of the team realy, we have to because they were not good enough last year, no creativity, no out and out strikers, defence giving silly goals away could go on and on, Jacketts surprised me last year with is selections which to me was not good enough and showed he was not good enough as coach/ manager to take us forward, so to me would like to wish him all the best and move on because we did win Division.1 in style.

10 Jul 2016 16:12:46
Are you telling me McDonald will make or break this purchase of the club? Are you a wind up merchant wlv82?
Why not concentrate on the bigger picture instead of getting wrapped up with a payer that will have no say in our destiny.

10 Jul 2016 17:00:41
Are you serious wlv82? The sale of Macca affecting a takeover by a billionaire? Need to put things into perspective mate. As much as I like Macca, best for him to move on as something is not quite right here. Certain that the new owners have better players on their radar - too wise not to!

10 Jul 2016 17:51:47
Macca is not good enough for prem price is so is Connor Ronan.

10 Jul 2016 14:00:17
Transfer deadline day should be interesting this year.

10 Jul 2016 14:11:48
Messi to be seen in The Mander Centre - 6/ 1.

10 Jul 2016 14:44:14
More likely Asda.

10 Jul 2016 15:56:26
More likely Featherstone prison.

10 Jul 2016 17:37:31
Helicopter to Compton.

10 Jul 2016 13:39:12
Thoughts on Anichene? Not for me!

10 Jul 2016 13:45:47
Dont no could be good to partner dicko hold up striker ext. But with dicko injury. can't see it.

Any decent porto players that was under Lopetegui.? That would reunite.

10 Jul 2016 13:46:50
Do u mean anichebe? If so a no from me.

10 Jul 2016 14:10:53
No idea about Porto players, Money.

That's the one, Paul. Typo.

10 Jul 2016 11:19:12
What's the game with KMac being sold to fulham?
Wouldn't a new coach want to assess the squad at his disposal? before any players were let go' or does this indicate that a) Jackett is staying on regardless, b) the take over isn't going ahead and Jackett is going knowhere.
This just seems odd considering we are apparently so close to a new owner and coach.

10 Jul 2016 11:25:14
just getting rid of the deadwood,
Lopetegui has his own targets so don't
be surprised to see a flurry of transfer activity
as soon as this deal is ratified this week.

10 Jul 2016 12:15:49
I hope we keep JACKETT πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

10 Jul 2016 12:29:25
Spot on Karlis, forget the old side we will move on to another level, cannot come soon enough for me after watching that rubbish last year, like watching paint dry thanks Kenny for getting we out Division.1 but last season I now you had a lot of injuries but there was no excuse for the negative attacking football at home.

10 Jul 2016 13:46:39
Mcdonald's relationship with Jackett had completely broken down, and it seems he has no interest in making a fresh start under the new regime. He wants out.

10 Jul 2016 14:21:49
Pmsl Tamworth .

10 Jul 2016 15:30:26
Aaaarrrggghhhh Paul Tamworth has cracked under the pressure! lol.

10 Jul 2016 09:30:31
Does anyone know how long it will take the FA to come the their decision.

10 Jul 2016 10:40:24
It isn't the F A it's the F L who makes the decision hope that clears it up for you.

10 Jul 2016 10:45:14
Think Villa's took like a week once it got to this stage. I reckon it should be official by Friday but don't hold me to that. Wonder if Lopetegui will be in charge for the Crewe friendly.

10 Jul 2016 08:40:56
Translated this from Spanish website
Lopetegui
The Spanish coach will lead the Chinese sports project group, Posum. Thus it falls from the betting on who will be the new national coachο‚‚   ο‚ˆ 
Julen Lopetegui will be the new general manager of Wolverhampton, team of the English second division. In the absence of the signature of his contract and his assistants, the commitment is complete with Posum Chinese group has entered European football with force.

Lopetegui input start directing the 'Wolves', although the owners want it to be the image of the company in Europe. Robin Li, representative of Posum, is finalizing the purchase of equipment, as well as Milan of Silvio Berlusconi .

Lopetegui that has not yet been able to sign his contract until the purchase is closed, will take up his usual Staffordshire county work computer. As an assistant you will be with Lopetegui, his friend and companion when players were active as Pablo Sanz has already been dismissed from Porto where he headed the quarry of the 'Dragons'. The trainer is Fernando Gaspar. Juan Carlos Arevalo will be devoted to the preparation of porters and still undecided, it will also be part of the technical team an analyst who now works at the RFEF and specializes in video and software. Lopetegui wants to have a second assistant is already at the club and knows the English competition and the intricacies of Wolverhampton.

Julen Lopetegui was one of the candidates to succeed Vicente Del Bosque in the position of coach if finally leaves the RFEF. Since he ruled out for several weeks because he had already committed to the Chinese giant but nothing is signed yet.

10 Jul 2016 12:28:01
For porters read goalkeepers. The RFEF is effectively the Spanish football federation. So looks like we are going to have specialist data analysis. Whether or not that is what Thelwell was trying to do I can't say I ever saw its application, maybe KJ was just too old school. Big Sam has proved that it works and must be the way forward with everyone committed. I don't think our new owner would be happy not using IT to its maximum potential.

10 Jul 2016 00:20:06
Anyone going the Crewe friendly on Friday? I'll be there, albeit on my own, but could be first game after takeover announcement.
