I know we gotten rid of Morgain and Dom Joly, but why haven't we ditched The Moxey Shop? Do we want the Chinese to think many people have to take short term loans to get them by? This carp makes Britain seem like a third world country.

10 Aug 2016 23:51:01
I suspect it's because it's too much hassle to change the shirts this season, with some sold, stock already in place, no time to get new shirts in etc. And it doesn't really matter while we are in Champ, because hardly anyone will see it. It only really matters if we get to Prem, and then yes it would be very bad.

But not as bad as it would have been with Morgan or some other tinpot owner, as it would have been way too strong and would have defined our identity to the Nation. With billionaire owners though it has less potential to.

But I think regardless, Fosun will bin them end of this coming season, so next seasons shirt, new sponsor. Apart from anything, Moneyshop has zero relevance in China, they'll probably want their own name on the shirt or one of their quality sub-brands.

And I agree about 3rd World Country, some business people in our Country just see ordinary people as fodder to be exploited for their own benefit, no genuine sense of community or care at all, I think Moxey was one of those and so glad he's gone.

11 Aug 2016 03:53:19
Ffs do some of you wake up in the middle of the nt to have a moan
If it's a player we haven't brought it's our new owners mate a name on the shirt

10 Aug 2016 21:45:39
Anybody else getting fed up with this talisca bloke. I was excited a couple of weeks ago but in a way I'm glad he might not sign. not sure I even want him now as his heart clearly isn't with us and the money could be far better spent elsewhere. time to move on and be honest does anyone really know that much about him and is he really that good?

10 Aug 2016 22:38:35
He's only got a rating of 75 on fifa. can't be all that good.

10 Aug 2016 23:17:46
Totally agree TBF.

10 Aug 2016 23:45:30
Talisca photograph took outside Birmingham airport, is that a previous visit or recent?

10 Aug 2016 23:48:02
He's just had a kid, some folk really let the rest of us fans down with their negative outlook on
Life.

10 Aug 2016 20:04:44
I'm confused about Anderson talisca transfer its now saying he's signing for 4yrs but only staying for one even if we get promoted he's set his heart on Liverpool.

10 Aug 2016 21:50:50
Don't believe the hype.
It's our time
2 weeks of madness comin up.
Hold tight enjoy the ride.

10 Aug 2016 22:26:48
The realist always calming and reassuring.

Good stuff!

10 Aug 2016 23:31:24
Hope he's right.

10 Aug 2016 19:55:25
Yes it is but the season started last week and we were getting run all over the pitch by a league 1 team . when the season s finished what's the betting we miss out by 2 points?

10 Aug 2016 22:22:35
Might just be 1 point or even goal difference now that would give you something to whine about
Make your day.

10 Aug 2016 18:37:25
This is still a joke club from outside looking in . we must be the only billionaire club ever to spend nothing after bringing 4 players in . to slow on and off the pitch needs to be sorted now so we can be content as a club.

10 Aug 2016 19:14:25
The Windows still open for another 3 weeks!

10 Aug 2016 19:30:30
Jesus Christ if it's the same in 3 weeks time then fair enough but we have plenty of time to make signings.

10 Aug 2016 19:41:43
We payed for bodvarsson.

10 Aug 2016 19:53:02
With the money from macdonald.

10 Aug 2016 19:57:12
Think we're keeping our powder dry until WZ has assessed the squad properly.

10 Aug 2016 18:10:54
I don't expect promotion to happen this year however I think we have a very good chance of it. They need to hurry up and sort some players out now as the league games are going to come thick and fast and we're going to be needlessly giving away points and damaging our chances early on at this rate. We need less rumours and some action taking now. Patience is starting to wear thin.

10 Aug 2016 17:45:43
Just an observation, but despite the wealth of our new owners and the shortcomings of our current first team squad, we haven't really spent much! Realise there's still almost 3 weeks for the transfer window to run, but I do expect substantially more invested than the previous 2 transfer windows. The squad definitely needs an uplift quality wise. Aware that it's not always about the money, but equally, we're at least 4 / 5 players short if we are serious about the play off's as a minimum and a decent level of investment is going to be required - loanees and youngsters won't suffice.

10 Aug 2016 18:07:53
Normally I'd agree about loanees, too many loan players did for Graham Turner at ShrewsburyFC I think, and / or maybe caused problems for their current guy Micky Mellon.

But in this situation, I'm not sure they are all exactly loanees in the same way, rather they are continually working for Mendes, whatever club they are at, whether temporary or permanent signing, and need to be constantly trying and impressing at whatever club and on whatever terms to keep rising and keep Mendes happy.

And I guess it's just a fact of life of being in Chump, real talent, and older proven talent is unlikely to want to box itself into that league on permanent long deals, in case we fall short of getting to Prem.

But yes, I hope it ends up with a settled committed team, and hopefully any loanees that are good are hoping we'll be promoted and they can then stay and be properly signed long-term.

10 Aug 2016 18:09:47
Loanees would suffice MWP that has been proven on a number of occasions look at Sam Allarfyce when he was at Bolton.
We have v taken loan players before and several were a great success like Lightly.
So don't go writing of loan players they can do a job at a sensible price. And if we succeed you never know they may become permanent.

10 Aug 2016 19:08:29
Dont you think it might be better to spend"enough"now in this window to plug the rickety defence/ midfield, then once the team has settled down with the new coaching staff'assess the situation then go in with more money and idea of who it is we need?

10 aug 2016 16:21:15
cauley woodrows family connection was martin patching from th late 70's 80's. if my memory serves me well,

10 Aug 2016 19:34:32

10 Aug 2016 16:37:03

10 Aug 2016 16:38:56
Do you mean Lucas Leiva?
If so, keep dreaming!

10 Aug 2016 20:12:04
Yea just a thought wages would be massive so probably not a good idea.

10 Aug 2016 15:12:03
Can't see talisca signing any time soon if his Mrs has had a baby.

10 Aug 2016 16:01:23
TBF it's a typical wolves thing to do we'll drag our heels over this and end up with know body come the end of August with the excuse in the end of we couldn't get the talisca deal over the line.

10 Aug 2016 14:54:40
Anybody know the thinking behind making the pitch narrower. I would have thought we would have wanted as much space as possible for wingers to run in.
Arsenal supposedly considering a move for £30m Bony, so why would he come to us for £13m?
When are we going to plug the gaps in midfield and defence with some strong fit match winners? If Talisca comes fair enough, but it seems like a bit of a sideshow when there are other pressing needs. Hello! the season has started.

10 Aug 2016 15:17:15
Is it an Italian or Portuguese thing maybe, re Walter or Mendes, do they have narrower pitches?

I'd guess they'd want it narrow to defend easier, and rely on speed and clever one-twos (rather than pitch width and space) to attack.

And didn't we have a smaller pitch when we got promoted or first year in Prem with McCarthy, then they made it bigger and it went pear shaped lol.

10 Aug 2016 18:11:48
Where did you read about narrowing the pitch?

10 Aug 2016 14:51:41
Wolves are rumoured to be linked with a lot of players (true or false) but after early activity aren't landing anyone. I suspect most of the links are made up but we need to do something fast to bring in enough quality for promotion and I suspect Forsun know this. So be patient and it will probably all fall into place. Shi said they need to be smart which I suspect means loan deals with options to sign those who might do well post promotion without obligation to sign those who do not pass muster. No problem with this approach but let's make it happen.

10 Aug 2016 15:13:44
I get the impression from watching Walter in the Crawley pre-match interview he's a bit frustrated about wanting some new signings in too. Looked to me like it fitted with us waiting on Talisca and maybe a few others.

Yes I trust Fosun, and more than that, I trust Mendes due to his vested interests, he needs to make this work or he's risks looking like a clown and harming his future opportunities with the Chinese (ours and maybe others) .

One thing to consider though, I think Fosun are working to Chinese wolf culture (a corporate methodology), and that stipulates they do proper investigation, understand the field / opportunities before they attack / commit. So they might be doing much more work, considering potential players much more thoroughly and strategically than we might assume they would with the money some expect them to just throw around. I think this will come good, and be worth the wait.

10 Aug 2016 14:49:20
If we don't strengthen this team soon we'll be playing catch up.

10 Aug 2016 08:25:31
After last nights performance by our defence is there still anyone who thinks Batth and Hause are good enough for us.
Bringing in 2 CB's is our priority followed by a LB and CDM before this Talisca or another attacking player. Useless the pair of them, they would be top league one players now, maybe top championship players in a few years but if we've got any ambition to go up then we need to move fast this window and sort out centre defence out.

10 Aug 2016 09:15:08
Bath is just a standard center half. no pace . ball watches and can't mark for toffee.2 games 2 coners and the ball was dead center each one. now should be there 4 me.

10 Aug 2016 09:48:45
I think Danny will be fine, he is a super young man, but he needs help, he needs to work alongside a much more experienced central defender - he is still learning. The senior central defender should be skipper not Danny. This person will need to be an experienced international player who will have the respect of the new super stars about to join - but who / don't ask me. Ask Walter et al.

10 Aug 2016 10:38:50
Put like that can't argue. I do think Danny is good, and Hause, and they do deserve our support, it's just a question of whether they are at the right stage of their development / career for what we need right now.

If Walter (a top goalie so you'd think he would know if our defence is strong enough or not) thinks we need to get some more developed central defenders in to help then I totally support that.

10 Aug 2016 11:58:12
Batth is a good player but really does need experience around him as he too often gets caught out covering less experienced players (Hause/ Iorfa) . When he played alongside Ricketts he really looked the part.

10 Aug 2016 12:11:00
Maybe a lot like Roger Johnson when he had Scott Dann next to him? Though Danny has the advantage of not being a nob like Roger was, Danny genuinely cares so we should about him too, even if we conclude we do need someone more developed, we should still respect him and his dedication / loyalty / desire and hope the best for him. No need to knock him down even if we do need someone who can do more.

10 Aug 2016 00:12:39
Phew! Don't quite know what it is about little ol' Crawley Town. But they always seem to give us a really good game; I remember well the 2-1 win at Molineux early on in Kenny's career with us. A 93rd minute penalty took the spoils that night! Good to see again how the lads showed great spirit to grind out the win needed. I must admit though I haven't been hugely convinced by the defence since Zenga's arrival; we made similar mistakes tonight to the Rotherham game, in particular on the first goal in each game. Still early days and hopefully now we can build some momentum. A good cup run could be just the ticket to brighten spirits at Molineux! That and Anderson Talisca; if he EVER joins that is!

10 Aug 2016 06:36:48
Crawley gave us a 'good game' as you put it because our midfielders are not up to the required standard! They can't attack and can't defend just stand there an sid and back pass.
Teixeira was a breath of fresh air showed them how it should be done.
Henry and Wallace off at half time on came Costa and dadi, what a difference they made. Costa very quick and controls the ball well. Dadi pestered their defence all the time and always available.
Orice may get a stay of execution but Evans just stands in no mans land as if he is some sort of midfield general but he is always standing in the wrong place marking empty spaces.
Yes centre backs still same as last season can't defend corners ( can't blame Zenga for same old faults) Coady played well at right back.

10 Aug 2016 08:15:12
First half poor, basically Jackett's drab side, though Teixeira did stand out, better after substitutions. Need more additions including defenders who know what their doing. Might have found what we're looking for up front in Bodvarson and still got Dicko coming back too.

10 Aug 2016 10:41:05
