No Williamson? Not injured I hope.

Can anybody confirm that the new hull city manager marco silva is the same manager that we wanted before appointing zenga and prior 2 lambert

2.) 15 Jan 2017 08:40:55
Yes, Marco Silva is the same one that wouldn't come to Wolves. He looks to have captured that 'new manager bounce' at Hull. I'd like to see them claw their way out of trouble at the expense of Crystal Palace or West Ham.

3.) 15 Jan 2017 08:48:23
Yes it is, ex Olympiakos boss

4.) 15 Jan 2017 13:19:29
Was second choice after guy who took over Spanish national side. Didn't, t speak any English at that point but started lessons to be better placed if English opportunity arose in future. Could hav me got him after Zenga but we chose to go the Championship experience route.

Will do a really good job at Hull and probably keep them up. Be interesting to see how he does compared to English route Sam Allardyce, who has probably got a better squad at Crystal Palace than Silva has at Hull.

5.) 15 Jan 2017 16:34:21
Silva has only signed a contract until the end of the season is my understanding. 👍😉

6.) 15 Jan 2017 16:34:45
At Hull that is! 😉

Looks like Man U r going to recall CBJ due to lack of game time. Not surprised.

wombourneron

1.) 23 Oct 2016 17:39:02
Who cares if he goes back, CBJ has not been exactly brilliant for we been average and also he is a loan player let's get our players who are permanent playing, or move them on if not good enough.
Defence needs sorting urgently, standing off players giving them to much time to do what they want Chris woods had to much space and should have put them 2-0 up with the chance he had and not good enough up front even when playing 2 players up there, have to do better than that surprised me Bodvarson and Dicho didn't do much for me Leeds done a good job on those pair .

2.) 23 Oct 2016 21:12:30
Well said pal, I'm a season ticket holder and couldn't have put that better myself, . To be fair I know cbj is young but his positional defending is awful.

3.) 24 Oct 2016 07:54:34
Morning Guys,

I traveled over 140 miles to see that game, and was very disappointed. Seems to be a confusion on who actually scored the Leeds goal, looked like a Silvio OG to us in the stand. And to the E&S. Whoever scored the goal it was very disappointing to see a Wolves team that had no bite. Dadi was awful! Saiss was so easily knocked off the ball, no strength in possession. Back 4 was USELESS But I'll still be going to the next home game with hope that WZ and the team can turn it around ASAP, as we are getting close the R zone! If Wolves were to sack him or WZ to walk, who would we get?

01 Oct 2016 19:31:54
Not going to mention any names this time but central defence is a major problem IMO. Has already cost us big time this season. Can forget top six unless changes are made. But where are they?

wombourneron

1.) 02 Oct 2016 11:21:55
Did not deserve to lose, but you have to say that the defence was bad, Bathe should of done better also although Brady's goal was well taken you cannot give him that much space should of closed him down a lot better.
Last 20 minutes only one team in it, when we went at them we had plenty of chances but we didn't take them, and you cannot stand off there players and allow a decent Norwich side that much space, nice to see Dicho back we need someone like him back in team.

2.) 03 Oct 2016 10:49:46
Batth needs to be dropped give him a wake up call.
Maybe go for Silvo and Iorfa in central cefence or dare I say stearman and iorfa.

3.) 03 Oct 2016 12:41:10
Needs a shake up, back four was very bad, standing off them to much and giving them to much space, and why they played that deep and inviting a decent Norwich side to come onto them I will never know, I said decent Norwich side, and that's all they are to me, nothing fantastic, they have been relegated for a reason they let goals in and if we had gone at them from the off like in the last 20 minutes instead of being to deep we could of beat them, also we had days extra rest from there last game but you wouldn't of thought so on 1st half performance.
It's gone now so we have to start again and it's Aston Villa and if we could get our season back on track against them it would be terrific.

4.) 03 Oct 2016 12:51:00
Saiss has no speed but fabulous distribution so his ideal position could well be a centre half. I would then bring in another quality midfielder or two in January. Saiss and Iorfa or Williamson (when fit) is a combination which would definitely work.

As for Batth, Stearman and Hause, forget them. All of them look out of their depth in this new look squad.

5.) 03 Oct 2016 15:27:45
Anyone else thinking at times like this we need to bring back Jack Price. Not a CB but still absorbs some of the pressure, and a reliable alternative to Coady and the hot-and-cold Saiss.

6.) 04 Oct 2016 21:30:43
Hey Big Jeff here is my early Xmas Wish List:
1 - Commanding Center Half
2 - Ball winning, passing midfielder
3 - 20 Goal striker (additional to Nouha)

7.) 05 Oct 2016 14:36:05
I would tick all of those, DerbyWolf. I'd especially like Bjarnason from Lazio as the midfielder, or someone similar with proven pedigree. Finding an available decent centre half might be a problem, tho, as there aren't many around at the moment.

8.) 07 Oct 2016 17:49:58
Derbywolf I totally agree with your suggestion. I do however believe that if Bodvarrson was played 24/ 7 with Dicko that could be an amazing partnership shame Zenga hasn't seen it but don't worry lads it will only take another month. Meanwhile I'll keep on changing the squad and winning half the games meaning that we will only finish mid table unless something magical happens.

9.) 07 Oct 2016 17:49:58

10.) 08 Oct 2016 20:13:03
Wish I saw what you see! ND played well with Afobe, JDB isn't anything like an Afobe. Much more a marauding striker. I think he's great, more if anything like bully was. I think we still need a quality 20 goal striker up front with him. 😀.

11.) 08 Oct 2016 20:58:29
Why have wolves not signed up ricardo carvahlo 1 year deal would help our Portuguese players settle in england got vast expirence and would teach bathh iorfa and hause so much even in training anyone else agree? And we. don't need a striker we need to learn how to assit our strikers.

12.) 09 Oct 2016 15:37:57
The Striker thing is a bit of a myth. Dicko, Bodvarsson and Mason with Cav, Tex, John and Costa is an embarrassment of riches. As said above, we need to learn how to assist them. One quality centre back (not a 38yr old) and a box to box midfielder such as Bjarnason from Lazio would definitely be sufficient to complete a play off push this season.

13.) 10 Oct 2016 15:21:51
Players Wolves are currently scouting for January; Strikers Omar Bogle from Grimsby, Luke Coulson from Eastleigh and midfielder Bradley Dack from Gillingham. Yes, STILL no defender lol.

Watched England. Poor IMO. Fear the worst against a decent team.

1.) 05 Oct 2017 22:25:03
Glad we qualified, but the football was terrible against an average side, we were to predictable in our play due to playing the game at to slow a pace, making the entertainment of the game terrible, let's hope we can raise our game and not be so predictable in our play against better sides and play with a faster tempo to our game, if not we will get beaten easily by a better side.

2.) 06 Oct 2017 12:57:12
If that's how they are going to play in the group stages there will be no need to turn the plane engine off as we will be first out . Thought rashford had a good game and he is only 19 nearly 20 .

3.) 06 Oct 2017 13:20:24
One of the few positives Billy.

4.) 06 Oct 2017 13:42:04
The positive is we've qualified! Ask the teams who don't if they'd swap with us! I remember 1994 when we didn't qualify? What a crap summer!

5.) 06 Oct 2017 16:14:24
Argentina are in danger of not qualifying for the first time in 48 years. Bet they would swap with us.

6.) 07 Oct 2017 17:21:05
Sorry to have upset you guys. I am very patriotic (10 yrs in the forces and a proud brexiteer wanting my independence back) . However as a football nation we lack the basic skills. How to control a ball with one touch etc. Southgate is boring, his team are boring and the current players not good enough IMO. Heading for my bunker!

7.) 07 Oct 2017 20:22:04
Looks like Holland won't qualify either. We need all the help we can get! But you can't blame Southgate. We just don't have enough world class players. He can't go out and sign some more!

8.) 07 Oct 2017 20:57:02
I agree 100% about Southgate, what our national team needs is a Nuno who can put square pegs in square holes and gets the best out the individual and set the team up correctly. Then and only then we may just be able to compete with the big boys. 👍.

9.) 08 Oct 2017 08:49:07
I’ve seen Afobe at the vitality a few times and would have to say we did a good deal getting rid.! Eddie you can keep him mate and good luck! ⚽️😉👍.

10.) 09 Oct 2017 12:14:56
Agree with wolvescoast, would not want Afobe back need to move on and sighn a better player, remember he did not try for us in is later games, didn't seam to care.

01 Oct 2017 21:38:51
For a statistics guy with a bit of time. What was the average age of the starting line up Taking Ruddy out of the equation against Burton?

wombourneron

1.) 01 Oct 2017 23:03:24
23.6 years of age. Some future if they stay together. It's a big if.

2.) 02 Oct 2017 17:41:57
Many tks. My sec` says Wolves research is not in her job description!

Just wondering how many ex-pats etc have subscribed to the live stream matches. Will find out eventually I suppose but it must be a "must have" for the people who not only emigrated but those who work overseas.

1.) 15 Sep 2017 19:13:03
And those with a VPN.

2.) 15 Sep 2017 20:00:03
Not computer literate. what's a VPN?

3.) 16 Sep 2017 05:17:34
Gives your internet service provider the impression that you are abroad.

4.) 16 Sep 2017 11:40:57
Virtual proxy network, makes it appear like you're in other countries by re-router your traffic through a vpn providers servers.

5.) 16 Sep 2017 11:50:16
VPN prevents people from identifying your location, you could be anywhere in the world . But remember also that you have to log into your account with a supporter number and password, additionally you have to pay with a card.

Wolves have said that anyone trying this will lose their money.

Someone reported on here that they had tried it and been unsuccesful.

6.) 17 Sep 2017 05:59:24
Initially I had problems which were explained by customer service as unexpected oversubscription
My streaming is brilliant however no commentary is devaluing the event
It would also be better if the crowd noise was more prominent in the broadcast. But I think the 5 quid fee is a bargain if your stuck 12000 miles from the game.

18 Jul 2017 20:32:40
Anyone got an update on how long Marshall will be out for?

wombourneron

1.) 18 Jul 2017 23:13:40
3 months. hip.

2.) 19 Jul 2017 01:33:09
We need at least a couple of decent strikers for the off. I like most of the changes and think the new team structure will be good, but only if we have quality at the front to enable us to win games! I can see the need for a striking midfielder, but most of all at least two quality front runners!

⚽️👍😉

Go and get please.

3.) 19 Jul 2017 05:47:15
Ur absolutely spot on. hope they av them lined up. because were running out of time. to get them gelled in.

4.) 19 Jul 2017 06:40:24
Nothing done to the front line yet in terms of better players - I hope it's coming. Bright, Mason simply not good enough . Dicko was always at his best when he played with a big target man. So let's get two ( 2 for every poisition) . Let's face it with Bod and Wiemann gone we are actually weaker than last season,

5.) 19 Jul 2017 11:27:09
Who were the big target men who helped Dicko? Afobe who's just under 6ft or Sako who's 5'11? Dickos never played with a big target man except JDB and that didn't work.

19 May 2017 22:07:20
Only just read the E and S. Danny boy says looking at the
England situation regarding center backs, its not impossible for me to get in the squad in the future! . Lost for words.

wombourneron

1.) 19 May 2017 22:13:04
If you read it properly I think you will find he was referring to possibly representing India.

2.) 19 May 2017 22:20:36
I apologise wombourne. It was me that didn't read it properly. I missed that paragraph. Possibly because my brain couldn't process the information it was being given .

3.) 20 May 2017 00:17:03
Bath for England come on noway.

4.) 20 May 2017 09:57:09
Batth will play for England in Russia World Cup.

Quite agree Wulf. Dicko has not shown that he is back to his best in front of goal. Edwards, nice guy gives 100% but not good enough IMO. The best pointer in the game though!

Went pretty much as I expected. An important win IMO, against a team who would use the tough/ hard/ bully tactics to stop us playing. A good learning experience for what we will face over the season.
