Triggered Afobe release clause 12.5m.

Since signing for Bournemouth he's been disappointing to say the least, 17 prem games 0 goals this season, last season 6 in 31. Not the player we need for a top half finish unless Nuno thinks he can get something more out of him. 1 plus side at least he's classed as home grown.

40m now spent on Jota, Boly and Afobe, leaves the way open for more loan signings.

2.) 30 May 2018 14:41:15
Don’t want to believe it so won’t until it is official through official site.

3.) 30 May 2018 15:32:46
Afobe not done yet.

4.) 30 May 2018 17:49:10
Doesn’t make any sense given Thelwell saying quality over quantity. Afobe struggled for starts in our Championship team so why would we buy him for our Premier team! We nearly didn’t complete the deal in January because Bournemouth were insisting it was a loan to buy deal and we wanted an opt out. Didn’t see anything in the time he was with us that indicated that he was any better than when he left us. Hasn’t impressed at Bournemouth in an attack minded team with good service from the flanks. Just don’t get it at all, lots of better options out there.

5.) 30 May 2018 20:41:49
Can’t believe we’re paying 12’5mill for Afobe I didn’t really think he was worth 10mill thelwell stating they want quality over quantity maybe Nuno seen something in him that nobody else has seen goodness nows what I can only see him as a squad player nothing else.

6.) 30 May 2018 20:58:39
I really don’t get the negativity towards Afobe. Six goals from 7 starts. Look at his goals against Leeds, Bolton and Burton - all quality strikes. Watch the Cardiff away game and look at his movement and set up play from which both Costa and Bonatini should’ve scored. The man is a Wolf. I for one am delighted we are signing him - if we are - though doubt he will be our first choice striker.

7.) 30 May 2018 23:34:05
Would take bon over afobe creates more chances for the player next to him and very good work rate.

8.) 31 May 2018 00:07:59
Das- yeah he's a Wolf unless he has a better option then he's a cherry or a goodness knows what! Besides which the negativity is because he has been bang average, 6 goals in 7 starts is a VERY kind way of dressing up 6 goals in 16 Champs apps! Goals against a Burton or Bolton defence just ain't going to cut it next year! Which brings us to the truly woeful Prem record that he has!
Look I'm the first to say in Nuno I trust and this is now different so I will give him the benefit (although this stinks of Thelwells business mind) . I do however hope this is a reality check to those thinking we were going to buy a top six team, cause buying Bournemouths cast off is a LONG stretch from a top six team in fact its a LONG stretch from a top half Prem team even!

9.) 31 May 2018 01:21:41
If this does go ahead it would take a very brave man to sign Silva from Milan. With our two main strikers having a combined tally of 2 goals in 38 top flight league matches last season I can imagine the fear being struck in the hearts of many other teams, Sadly non from the premiership.

10.) 31 May 2018 01:42:06
Good point BullyBoy about him being a wolf unless he has better options. If he went back to Arsenal would that make him an Ars?

Really hope in our recruitment of new players we go for younger hungry players with the desire and passion to match ours like with neves and jota and build a team and not go for players just in it for the short term, I can’t see us doing a Man City but would be happy building like spurs and maybe a cup final in next couple of years, think spurs will be a challenger for title within 2/ 3 yrs new stadium and great manager.

Fabian Delph is a regular starter for the best team in Britain can play defence or midfield but according to some not good enough for us I would take him all day long.

Weymouth- spot on, couldn't believe it when I read peeps saying no thanks! Unlikely he's leaving after such a strong season but the idea that as a signing he's below par is frankly laughable, love the ambition but a few on here seem to think this is Footy Manager! ;)

2.) 30 Apr 2018 05:02:14
Sorry guys, but we all have our opinions. I have never been a fan of Delph and would be underwhelmed if he was our marquee signing as has been suggested. I am all for singing the praises of those unsung heroes in a team and Delph has done a job this season but I personally have never thought he was that great in midfield. Yes, he has played full back, but not a marauding wing back as we play now. I just don't get what people see in him.

I am never going to spout a load of Champions League players that ought to sign and some people are unrealistic in what they post, but for me, Delph wouldn't get the blood pumping and would probably cost far more than he's worth.

Carvalho no better than Saiss in my opinion and silva not had good season and World Cup so far and for the 35m that been banded about think we could find better options, just my opinion.

What has Jack Butland actually done in his career apart from being English, got relegated with his last club think we at a time where the powers that be cannot decide who the best in not a very good bunch of England keepers a position that most who have got to no1 have kept it for lot of caps Shilton seaman hart hope next time we see him he picking the ball out back of net.
