Just been watching the ELF debate with Holloway and it's clear everybody hates us. Talking about how much everyone has spent and how well they have done. nothing about wolves. How warnock is brilliant and it's all about Cardiff for promotion then "I'll say another team doing well" Ipswich! So they covered first and third and totally ignored us! Goes to show all are jealous.

As long as we keep getting the results, no one cares what others have got to say about us. We'll just quietly go about our business. It's clear that most clubs in this league are jealous of us. Sky have also done us a favour by not selecting any of our matches. They seem confident that Villa were going to walk the title hence why 5 if their games are being shown. If we beat Cardiff on Saturday they'll say Cardiff played poorly not that we played well. Let them hate us, we'll have the last laugh.

Popmpey- sadly that's just the way of it, everyone used to love Man City when they just the poor neighbors of United. when they started winning things though all of a sudden 'ah well they are just buying a title'! Especially ironic/ hypocritical considering United did that throughout most of the 90's and not a single journo dared to say it! We're English fella. therefore we all have a natural aversion to trusting success! ;)
Besides Holloway is like Mick and Warnock, part of an old guard who see peeps like Nuno coming over to this league and must know that they are unlikely to EVER get so much as an interview with a big club again! Just a sad case of old boys club self preservation, little more to it than that! Besides Holloway knows NOTHING about footy. I'd be more concerned if he had tipped us if honest! ;)

ipswich and cardiff have done well but look at who they played, burton brum millwall and a poor villa team while we have played 2 relegated teams and one play off team from last year.

Holloway is Jacketts best mate he s hated us since Jackett was dumped so no surprise there. We get a slight mention on Talk Sport and they carry on talking about Villa all the while. They have spent quadruple what we've spent and how come no one mentions Midesborough who have been the top spenders so far. Under the radar is fine by me we're doing this for Carl anyway!

Couple of thoughts, let's hope the new manager and backroom staff make us hard to beat and give us a defence that are hard to break down with plenty of clean sheets.

finally if the youngsters don't get a chance it may be a blessing if jackett gets the portsmouth job as i'm sure he would snap up a few on season long loans to aid their developement.

With cook now at wigan they now have jackett as their number one target. Was recently working at tottenhams academy and he would definetely help the likes of enobakhare, ennis, carnat, wilson etc. Would like to see ronan and gibbs - white get a full pre season as I think they're good enough for the championship/ too good for league 1. Ennis and wilson would fill their boots in that league and come back stronger.

Saville and Evans didn't press as they were holding making sure there was no fap in front of back 4 for Liverpool to play through. There positioning led then to put hopeful high balls into box. Can't understand some people's views. If they would have pressed up they would have picked us off. Great tactics which were stuck to by two very disciplined players.

Thought Evans Saville were immense today. Liverpool at home didn't manage a shot on target for an hour. We completely blocked the middle of the park. Total discipline and team ran themselves into the ground. Excellent selection.

Fantastic result today, I can't belive the transformation after Zenga, PL deservers so much credit for an emaculate plan to starve Liverpool. Hard pressing up front and closing down on defensive duties. People may say Liverpool played a second
Team in some positions. but so did we! Possesion rate is just numbers its how we break and expand quickly and we exploited Liverpool's downfall. Congratulations to all the squad and Management and to all the fans who travelled to Liverpool today. On one final note as we all want is UPTW.

Bewdeley Wolf, everybody has being shagging off Evans and Saville all season but now because they played when we beat Liverpool it's like they were busquets and pogba, they were awful and will always be awful! I said we were fantastic today but I didn't rate Evans or Saville, gave the ball away countless times, weak in the tackle and hoofed it away all the time. But mind you stearman scored on too so he will be the best thing ever although pretty much everyone raved about how bad he was and we shouldn't have him back. Apparently we are interested in Rickie Lambert who had fallen out of favour at Cardiff. Also I saw that Steven Taylor is having a trial at Ipswich. Thought he might have been an option for us as he wasn't too bad at Newcastle and also a free transfer.

Absolutely disgusted with both the referee and the Cardiff players today. 5 or 6 times they hacked us down off the ball but at soon as we touched them it was a free kick. The keeper was time wasting from the first minute. 400 miles round trip to be robbed by someone who wasn't even worthy of refereeing a Sunday league game.

From what I've seen tonight we are still lacking a spine of the team. If NES is going to play Coady at CB then we need 2 x cm and a striker, if playing Coady cm then we need 1 x cd 1 x cm and 1 x striker. We have an amazing first 11 but we can't guarantee they will be fit all season. We need strength in depth.

The spine is the best I ever remember provided we sign a good striker. 4 straight clean sheets and all defenders looking good, Neves and Saiss are the 2 cm's. More than happy to have Ronan and Price as back ups with Ronan improving game on game. Marshall will also be able to cover cm if needed. We're not going to get another player like Neves or Saiss as back up and again i'd rather see Ronan given the chance.
We need a striker and everything should be put into this and I'm pretty sure it is behind the scenes.
This type of game always makes you think the players aren't good enough but they've all been thrown in. the likelihood is should one of the main cm's be out then one other would drop in. Unlikely that Nuno will be resting both Neves and Saiss or they are suspended/ injured at the same time.

I understand your point Just Smith, just what I saw, Neves and Saiss are fantastic but Edwards and Price aren't the answer to cover suspensions, injuries etc. Ronan is a fantastic talent but again a bit lightweight for central midfield and will be more creative higher up the pitch. I think marshall will be used at wing back mainly or one of the three across the front. I would love to see us bring in Crouch for a season with the quality we have out wide he would get 15 goals + in our team.

Good possession today. Love Leo but he isn't a 20 goal a season man. Jota was different class. Saiss and neves fantastic. Vinagre good going forward. Marshall and doc awful. N'diaye looked mobile when he came on and likes a tackle. Bright needs to do the simple things instead of trying to beat 3 people every time.
We looked comfortable in possession but like a lot of people have said we need to kill teams off. Always look slightly unorganised at the back although Coady cut a lot of attacks out very well. Still need a couple of strikers in Jan.

Agree Jas, Hugill isn't the player we need. As mentioned yesterday I think we have brought really well so far but I think we have just about hit panic stations with the midfielder and striker.
