If it is Karanka why wait to announce? He is unemployed so no reason to wait. I would be astonished if Silva came here. He didn't fancy coming in October, so as an ambitious guy surely he is waiting for the prem or a big foreign club to come calling. Also he is not part of the Mendes stable so would not necessarily want players picked for him.

Lambert seemed OK Wed night so a pretty big spanner was thrown into the works on Thursday- but by whom?

Every day lost now means the impetus on recruitment and restructuring slows down when we should be hitting the ground running.
Don't care about making changes but just get on with it so that the squad are in place for preseason.

He is part of the Mendes stable! 😉.

2.) 16 May 2017 13:47:54
Sorry Gordon Bennett, you are correct silvas agent is Carol Conclaves who apparently is in competition with Mendes but close is what's reported. I had seen it reported in the press in the past he was part of Mendes stable. We wait with baited breathe for the next cockup by our leaders at the Mol! 👍😉.

3.) 16 May 2017 14:31:24
Carlos Conclaves. Bloody predictive text again. 😉👍.

4.) 16 May 2017 15:31:59
i'm really really starting to lose interest now lols.

5.) 16 May 2017 16:23:49
it's such a bloody mess.

6.) 16 May 2017 17:32:12
Yes its a fine ol mess we are in. Why no clarity from Fosun. its nearly acweek since these rumors emerged and still no anouncement. Think its only fair an anouncement needs to be made imo. I only hope Fosun have learnt more from the last 12 months to plan properly an accordingly.

7.) 16 May 2017 23:50:38
My brother works for Wolverhampton council planning department. He says the Wickes site has been bought by Fosun Group. Plans for a new stadium are due to submitted.

Nothing to moan about today with the sun shining on Molineux and nice attacking play. So pleased for Danny 2 stonking headers, I guess that's how you answer your critics. We are playing much better football and what can you say about Costa's goal, a sheer delight.
Beat Forest on Tuesday and we should be clear of trouble.

1.) 02 Apr 2017 08:50:40
Costa showed class his footwork was beautiful.

2.) 02 Apr 2017 09:03:11
Felt great to leave the ground with two happy boys for once, a proper home win at last well done PL got the attacking balance just right today. UTW.

A Bola. Ola John should be here for a medical and signing.
Luisao wanting a big payday, also wanting another year's contract at Benfica. We are at an impasse as we are not willing to pay what he wants. At least that's the gist of it.
Plenty of haggling to be done if we really want him but if we have this money to blew have we looked for anyone outside the Mendes stable. He is also Brazilian so are we going to have the same work permit problems as Talisca.

Gordon Bennett

1.) 19 Aug 2016 19:18:48
If he has been residing in Portugal for 14 years he will likely have a Portuguese passport
The other guy was not for real and total BS.

2.) 19 Aug 2016 20:40:20
Luisao gained Portuguese citizenship in 2010.

Get on with it Fosun, Nuno is available and looks a better prospect than most names put forward. Tim desperately needs something to write about in the ES and we need to move on.

Gordon Bennett

1.) 23 May 2017 23:10:40
Plays guitar well, too.

21 May 2017 08:14:07
If Silva is favourite for Southampton then it makes me wonder if any of the also rans are any better than Lambo, like it or not. Maybe there is a foreign gem that Mendes will unearth but remember last year his best shot was Zenga and a load of dud players.
I desperately want Fosun to have a brilliant master plan but looking at the evidence and their behaviour all I see is naievety and knee jerk reactions and an inability to see a plan through without knowing what comes next.
End of year report on Fosun - could do better.

Gordon Bennett

1.) 21 May 2017 10:55:00
I think we all agree Zenga was a last gap manager given the time restraints put upon us by Morgan delaying the deal to get more money and add on's. However perhaps a better manager would have worked with what Mendes to get a better result. It is not unusual in European football outside the UK for advent to get positional players then managers work with them rather than dispense with them at the drop of a hat.

20 May 2017 08:08:20
Pointless speculating now, only Fosun are in the driving seat. Let's hope they know what they are doing. However the way they search for new managers while not sacking the old one doesn't enhance their reputation as a good employer. It makes me think the best managers will choose another club that will give them time to do the job.
Lambert won't criticise the club as he will walk away with a big wedge when and if he goes.

Gordon Bennett

1.) 20 May 2017 08:28:16
If Blakewolf is correct he was sacked Monday and keepin his mouth shut while severance pay is sorted. The next appointment is massive as that will show Fosuns intent!

2.) 20 May 2017 08:46:10
PT who would you realistically want in as the next manager? IF PL has gone.

3.) 20 May 2017 09:04:25
Marco Silva won 8/ 10 home games in the Prem but didn't win an away game, but the Prem is 3 leagues in one so he certainly did well when he came in, our league is competitive but certainly a lot weaker. If he wasn't appointed I'd rather Karanka who's done it in this league than someone who hasn't managed in England. My fav choice would be AVB who's managed two of the biggest clubs in England 👍 But I don't think that will happen but would be spot on if possible. I def don't want Pearson or Sherwood type managers to much like Lambert 👎.

4.) 20 May 2017 09:11:54
Agree with you PT but avb earning big bucks in China I believe.

5.) 20 May 2017 09:19:40
Yes DerbyWolf this is where we will see what Fosuns ambitions are for our club.

6.) 20 May 2017 09:30:45
We agree for once PT, AVB would be an inspired choice if we could get him but I feel he is out of our league. He made mistakes during his time in the prem but starting from the platform of the Championship may be just the reintroduction that he could benefit from.

7.) 20 May 2017 09:40:29
Can't be havin that lupinhowler 😂.

8.) 20 May 2017 09:46:56
To be fair to AVB he was under a lot more pressure with Chelsea and Spurs than he would be with us. I know we've got expectations but there a lot lower than theirs. In 2020 I'd be over the moon to be where Albion are in the league, but I'd def want us knockin on the door for Wembley visit in fa cup or league cup. 👍.

9.) 20 May 2017 10:13:32
I reckon looking at the regular posts on here he would be under just as much pressure? Good shout though. 😉😂👍.

10.) 20 May 2017 11:39:19
You are right about that Coast. Article in e&s about foreign owners well worth a read.

11.) 20 May 2017 11:48:37
Yeh seen it DerbyWolf interesting written by Jonny Phillips, the new model ownership. il settle for the Watford model, if u fail your out.

12.) 20 May 2017 12:40:39
Exactly no messing.

13.) 20 May 2017 13:11:09
Yes its true that AVB managed two teams in the prem but ask their fans what they thought of him. There are reasons why he did not stay with either for that long.

14.) 20 May 2017 13:49:37
I love Wolves but please don't put us in the same category as Chelsea and Spurs! By the way ask the majority of villa fans what they thought of Lambert? No tears when he was sacked!

15.) 20 May 2017 14:37:24
Agreed PT I work with a few villa fans and not one has a good word for Lambo
God Bless;-) 🙏🙏🙏.

16.) 20 May 2017 18:22:15
Just read that AVB earns £11m a year as manager of Shanghai SIPG. Would we really pay him that much to manage in the 2nd tier of English Football. Zidane, Enrique, Wenger, Emery and Ancelotti are more affordable. Only Mourinho and Pep are paid more.

15 May 2017 07:45:09
THis is how Mendes works. The multi method. When he gets involved with a club his method is to provide a number of players, the manager and sometimes even a new owner! Sometimes it works but it can leave a club with a load of turkeys on high wages. He also facilitates the outgoings from Benfica.
This would appear to be how enmeshed we are with this bloke and why Lambert doesn't hold the power in this relationship.
Fosun own 8% of the Mendes agency so transfer money flows back into Fosun (not Wolves) so who are they going to upset Mendes or Lambert.?
If we get a Mendes coach then I guess he will do as he is told.
Jeff Shi might agree with some of Lambert's approach but he is probably having his chain jerked from the motherland.
China isn't a democracy is it?
So we may enjoy success if it ever comes but the decent guys like Lambert and Jackett will be spit out every few months by owners who know nothing about football and want quick fixes.

Gordon Bennett

1.) 15 May 2017 08:13:57
It's all about making them money and nothing else.

2.) 15 May 2017 15:13:28
Lol, we spent 27 million get costa for 13 sell 25 million when was the last time this club made money 'Doyle Johnson o'hara etc 3 years off Premier League money . were did that go. damm some are fans never never happy. it's their first year here and mendes make money for club all ready?

3.) 15 May 2017 17:59:16
How has Mendes made money for the club? Spent £27m and Costa has not been sold. If he goes for £25m (which is not guaranteed he will) that is still a £2m loss! Although it's a potential £4.5m profit for Mendes on agent fees for the sales of Costa (potentially twice) and Cav. Loss for Wolves, profit for Mendes.

14 May 2017 07:26:20
I suspect that many of the 75% don't think Lambert has done a great job but fear further chaos and upheaval. A new manager will have to start the reassessment process all over so how does the clear out get underway and then integrate what's left with the new additions. Don't rate Thelwell but if we throw all our toys out the Pram who is going to handle the business.
If Fosun don't want Lambert then sack him last day of the season and get the new team in place. But all I see is more knee jerk reactions with no plan in place. No wonder the players are demotivated. Maybe it's Jeff who needs to go, his performance has created the rollercoaster.

Gordon Bennett

1.) 14 May 2017 08:01:13
About right that Gordon. Better the devil you know and all that.

Were you watching the one from Liverpool/ Porto? We are getting the one from Benfica who never seems to have played for them.

Gary Neville disaster at Valencia sacked in a few months and he didn't do England much good did he? As for Giggs never had a proper job apart from playing. We need experience.

We need an experienced manager not Giggs who has not a held a managerial job. Look at the mess Gary Neville made at Valencia. Ex players need to learn the job. Don't know who is available but it needs someone who can play attractive football but is tough enough for the rigours of this league, and who wants to win games rather than not lose them. If Kenny goes I wish him well, decent bloke, he got us out of a right mess but lost his way when Morgan pulled the plug.

I guess when 84 people have been mowed down in France it puts things in perspective, but one thing should be clear to the powers that be at our club. Whether the sale is going through or has stalled or folded, we cannot go into the season with the threadbare squad we have got. Some decisions have to be made now if we are not going to go into the season unprepared an demoralised.
I hope everything is still on track and maybe Lopetugui is hedging his bets because he doesn't want to find he's missed out on both jobs, but if we haven't pulled the deal off then that's pretty worrying.
It seems that nobody is any wiser than anybody else and if negotiations aren't complete it is going to be a fluid situation till it's done and pointless to claim to be in the know.
