Raul and Sasa expected to be fit for Liverpool game.

Golden Boy

1.) 04 Sep 2022 15:14:32
Good. Sasa did make a couple of good runs to the near post, however he doesn't appear to be that fast. I still think that he has a lot to offer.

2.) 04 Sep 2022 15:37:31
Make no mistake about it. When we put out our best team, we can beat anyone, despite our lack of goals. I wouldn't be at all surprised if we came away from Anfield with at least a point.

3.) 04 Sep 2022 15:48:21
Sasa got Acl injury so he will be out now

4.) 04 Sep 2022 16:09:14
Yep not sure for how long

5.) 04 Sep 2022 16:22:44
Feel really sorry for Sasa looked like he could have made a big difference to our team, might need to look at free agents if we can.

6.) 04 Sep 2022 16:55:36
Minimum of 6 months out. Probably the season written off.

7.) 04 Sep 2022 16:59:40
Diego Costa? Trouble is he's been without a club since the January window so fitness may be a serious issue.

8.) 04 Sep 2022 17:52:23
If all Bruno wants is someone to stick up top, then fitness shouldn't be too much of an issue! ? Get dirty Diego in.we could do with a bit of nastiness in our team.

9.) 04 Sep 2022 18:33:01
Agreed.get him in up top

10.) 04 Sep 2022 18:42:44
Costa on trial for this week to see if he is fit enough to play for us.

11.) 05 Sep 2022 09:42:28
Sasa has a history of knee problems.typical wolves signing.needed sum1 like costa style but younger in thee first place.

12.) 05 Sep 2022 14:49:55
That's the spirit Buxwolf. I mean of course Wolves go out of their way to sign players who they know will get injured. What a brilliant business model that us. Next your probably going to say that the head of recruitment takes advice from Mystic Meg to ensure that only high risk players are signed. You say this is a typical Wolves signing but I'm struggling to think of another player we've signed. Maybe you'd like to elaborate.

24 Aug 2022 23:23:29
So a week to go, this is my best case scenario: Boly will leave for around 4 mil, Adama will be sold for around 10 mil. One new striker will be signed and possibly one other signing. Neto will not be sold this window (Arsenal close to breaking FFP even with getting rid of a couple of high earners towards the end of the window). Fingers crossed peeps that we finish this window strong!

Golden Boy

1.) 25 Aug 2022 00:41:38
Personally I think we should get the deals done.
We need a forward and a striker let's not mess around.
Interesting Newcastle have got Isak does that mean Wolves have Ramos?
I don't think we need to spend mega money but would like to see us signing a fullback as cover, a cb for competition, a forward to link midfield and strikers and a striker a filthy, nasty, goal machine similar to Raul 2 years ago.

2.) 25 Aug 2022 06:36:06
For me the obvious striker one with some pedigree and fair expense.
Another with less expense.
I would be happy with that.
But happy whatever wolves do.

3.) 25 Aug 2022 08:20:13
I think Newcastle will be getting one hell of a player if they can sign Isaak, and hopefully that means that Ramos comes our way.
I'd be happy to see boly go and not get another CB in,we have toti and mosquera as cover, and at full back we are well stocked, just two forward player's needed for me.

06 Jul 2022 10:09:56
So Nunes maybe off to Chelsea.what are we doing?!

Golden Boy

1.) 06 Jul 2022 11:09:07
Apparently never wanted to join in the first place, forget him an move on, an quick!

2.) 06 Jul 2022 11:25:35
Its all about the money and Champion's League, players nowadays are not what they were, I think we need to be realistic in our signings

3.) 06 Jul 2022 11:48:42
@Golden Boy - we cannot compete with Chelsea, they can offer CL football and higher wages.

4.) 06 Jul 2022 12:05:06
Fair comment Debs but we’re not even competing with Fulham Forest and Leeds in this transfer window at this moment in time.

5.) 06 Jul 2022 12:05:17
Can't get a player to join if he doesn't want to join so let him rot on Chelseas bench might give him a kick up the backside.

6.) 06 Jul 2022 12:09:36
Looks like Nunes hasn’t had to wait too long for a “bigger” luv than us to come along, if Sky is to be believed. Agree with others here that we will always struggle to compete with these clubs unless we can break into that elite group. Difficult to do, given that you can’t attract the top players in the first instance. Classic Catch 22!
However, if we really want Downes from Swansea you’d think we could see off a challenge from Palace. Players from abroad may be attracted by proximity to London but a homegrown player who understands our leagues, surely see Wolves as an attractive proposition.
Do believe we have some top players on our books at present, many of them who have a lot more to give. If we keep the key ones, Neves in particular, then I think Lage has a squad to work with. Benefit of new arrivals cannot be underestimated, as it freshens up things and gives everyone, fans included, a confidence boost.

7.) 06 Jul 2022 13:27:49
Fans have to face reality, Wolves have no serious interest in buying. If a decent offer comes in for any member of the squad they will be gone. Fosun are in no position to invest any serious money in to the club. Just have to hope there is enough quality here to maintain Premier status. Would love the club to prove me wrong but I doubt it.

8.) 06 Jul 2022 13:53:47
Ray389.Is there any reason someone at the club eg Jeff Shi Scott Sellers or Bruno can’t come out and say either we have transfer targets that we are working on or we won’t be spending big due to the economic climate.
To keep fans in the dark after taking season ticket and shirt money is fuelling discontentment.

9.) 06 Jul 2022 14:05:25
Fulham, Forest and Leeds haven't exactly made earth shattering signings. If you look at ins and outs on Transfermrkt then only Man City and Spurs have really strengthened. Other clubs like Brighton and Everton have made a couple of decent additions between them but have lost important players.

How many players get signed isn't relevant. It's whether or not what comes in improves the squad and only time will tell on that. It's also a much smaller pool to fish in than the one Fulham, Forest, Bournemouth etc are fishing in. Except Paulinha, I very much doubt the players some other clubs have signed would have pulled up any trees at Wolves.

Fosun can't put any more money in without having a plan to get it back from the club in future revenues, so the budget is based on whatever is available and needs to allow for wages. This is exactly why they're putting focus into other revenue streams and growing the brand globally. You don't get to become an established top 6 clubs in the richest league in the world in 5 years, it takes time to build the foundation and that has to be done more naturally than it did 10-15 years ago, and it's a damned hard task. I'm confident there will be one or two additions before the window closes.

10.) 06 Jul 2022 14:12:35
HI NEW POSTER: I don’t think it’s the squad we have, I’m sure we would survive in the prem.
What worries me is the depth of the squad with injuries etc.
I’m not giving up hope of a couple of signings, but think fans won’t be overwhelmed by who we do sign.

11.) 06 Jul 2022 14:51:55
Great comment AlexWolf!

12.) 06 Jul 2022 15:18:03
That explains why they have increased the season ticket prices for over 65’s then Alex while giving decent deals on younger fans as no older fans will ever see us win anything.
Wish they had told us this when they bought the club instead of the Bull we were fed.

13.) 06 Jul 2022 15:52:26
I'd be surprised if Nunes was ever an option frankly, far too much clickbait around him for Wolves.
I don't expect us to spend more than 20 million on any one player!
For me the lack of PR from the club treats us fans badly, but then again it's been like this for a couple of years now. It's very poor by the club and shows fans a total lack of respect in my opinion!

14.) 06 Jul 2022 16:00:31
Difference is so many confuse aspirations with promises. Direct quote from Jeff Shi after the takeover in regards to being as big as Man City: 'In the future? Yes, why not? I do hope we can be the top club in the world. But it's not so useful to talk too much about that now. It's step by step. If you ask me the long-term goal, of course, we want to be as good as Man City, even better than them in future.'

Wants and hopes are aspirations. It promises nothing, but it dreams big.

I want my place of work to be the best in it's field in 10 years time, but it's different to promising my team it will happen even if we take the steps to get there.

15.) 06 Jul 2022 17:25:44
Fosun situation isn’t anywhere as dire as people are fearing. Picture is complex but to date they have remained in favour of the powers that be in the Chinese National party. Admittedly they ideally would like us to be self sufficient but that is some way off and they know that. If they are wanting to float Wolves on stock exchange then they need them to be a top six side and understand that investment is required in order to achieve this.
I think we should all concentrate on the football and let those better placed than us, to worry about the finances of our owners.
It is possible but unlikely that there will be no major signings and let’s for this exercise work on the premise that there will be no major outgoings.where are we compared to where we were during that really poor run in T end of last season.
Sa is a class act and Sarkic is a good back up. Lost a few defenders with Saiss a big miss but Toti, Mosquera, Boly and Jonny all fit and likely to have a full pre-season. Only really used three midfielders last year. All three remain and are augmented by returning MGW and Jordan plus a year older Cundle. Key forward players are back for a full pre season - Jimenez, Neto and Podence. Add in a returning Traore and a pre season for Chiqinho and Hwang.
Admittedly this wouldn’t be the scenario anyone would choose but it does demonstrate that we are in a better place now than we were at the end of last season!

16.) 06 Jul 2022 17:51:11
E from wombourne, there is no logical reason except to keep the fans on board, buying tickets and merchandise. Scott Sellers has a poor record when it comes to recruitment. They need a specialist to do this job, I'm sure he is a good fellow but perhaps out if his depth.

17.) 06 Jul 2022 18:05:38
Wolfthistle - Agree with your squad analysis - except statement that we are better than end of last year - unless you are referring to form and fitness, when of course you will be correct. In my view we are not as strong squad wise as Saiss - a key part of the defence has gone and Moutinho, Boly and Jimenez are one year older.
However that squad, with a fit/returning/motivated Neto, Traore and Podence markedly improving our offence, should be good enough for 13-16th. If Jimenez "recovers" (albeit unlikely!) we are good enough for Europa challenger - maybe 6th to 10th.
We really did put together a fantastic team that took us to "Seville" and still have some v v good players.
The squad is now v v thin and first 11 is ageing and stretched but this year we should be fine.
Obviously if we could manage a good signing or to that is all bunce!

18.) 06 Jul 2022 19:43:28
I don't trust Sellars tbh and a resignation letter is about the only thing he's capable of signing.

We do really seem to be in a position where the money's dried up and we have to sell to buy but are maybe pricing our players out of moves. Unless things change I'm seriously worried- wafer thin squad and players who haven't got great injury records, As with many others here I'd love to be proved wrong but I won't be holding my breath.

19.) 06 Jul 2022 21:10:59
Well said wolfthistle

20.) 06 Jul 2022 23:52:37
With five subs next season, depth of squad is going to be more important. The top teams will be free to bring on strong replacements at the hour mark to stretch the game. This makes good recruitment by us all the more important.

On the subject of the good old E&S, they are not journalists, they are reporters who just regurgitate what the club tells them. The idea of investigation doesn’t come into it. Much easier to never rock the boat.

26 Dec 2020 06:38:58
Rumours coming out from a number of media sources that we may be looking at Luka Jovic for a loan move in January. There may be some legs in this, he has been an unused substitute in a number of games recently.

Golden Boy

1.) 26 Dec 2020 12:34:16
Be a good signing if true mate but history has taught us the media know nothing of Wolves transfers as Wolves never let on until the deal is done.
Hope you had a good xmas mate.

2.) 26 Dec 2020 15:09:04
Hasnt he had a lot of discipline and attitude problems off the pitch?

He was prolific at Frankfurt if we could get him on that form happy days

The first problem makes him not an ideal Nuno player .

3.) 26 Dec 2020 16:56:35
Hope you had a good one Rated. The intriguing part of the gossip is that Jovic and Jimenez were team mates at Benfica. Could Nuno think of playing TWO strikers once Raul is fit?

4.) 27 Dec 2020 22:23:49
I would like Andrea Bellotti from Torino.

5.) 28 Dec 2020 12:07:20
Loan offer made for Jovic according to Spiers.

6.) 28 Dec 2020 15:33:56
Think AC milan are in for him too. Somehow I can see that type of deal coming off for them.

It's a strong link albeit unlikely we get this one I'd guess.

7.) 28 Dec 2020 20:51:29
DAS - Belotti would be a superb signing. One of the best strikers in Italy in my opinion so far as all round play goes.

8.) 28 Dec 2020 21:07:21
Best to look down the Mendes list. A certain Sr Costa appears on it.

9.) 29 Dec 2020 06:50:38
North Bank 62 - apparently Costa is demanding his contract be terminated with Athletico Madrid in January. I’d doubt Wolves could afford his wages.

{Ed001's Note - he claims to have personal problems requiring him to leave. Unspecified but if so, would moving back to England be making them worse? Personally I would worry about signing a player that is only ever a moment away from throwing his toys out of his pram and not bothering to try.}

10.) 29 Dec 2020 11:20:09
i don't think Costa will ever come for a start he wouldn't stand for Nunos stubborness and Nuno wouldn't stand for Costas ego it'd be ww3 in the dressing room whixh will end up with Nuno chinning Costa the Costa biting Nuno resulting in Nuno pulling out Costas teeth with tweezers (it'll hurt more), then for good measure Boly will tie Costa to the goal post for Neves to do some target practice lol.

But seriously it won't happen as Costa has a attitude problem and Nuno will not allow anyone to disrupt the harmony.

11.) 29 Dec 2020 22:27:08
I agree Rated, whether peeps rate Costa or not I'd be amazed if Nuno is keen! Nuno likes consistency, the Eds right however good Costa is he's a social hand granade just primed to go at any time! Time will tell 🐺.

12.) 02 Jan 2021 09:18:44
Origi 18m
Jovial Loan with option

That’s perfect for now.

12 Feb 2018 20:06:17
If the reports in numerous papers are to be believed, then we're looking at Dan Gosling in the summer. surely we should be aiming for better?

Golden Boy

1.) 12 Feb 2018 22:33:07
Why do you believe this stuff in the first place? Its all agent hype.

11 Jan 2023 20:16:56
So far: Front 3 absolutely abysmal, midfield passing pathetic and defensively looking fragile. Some of these players in the starting eleven need to be moved on.

Golden Boy

1.) 11 Jan 2023 20:31:26
Sounds like Forest defence are loving this GB.

2.) 11 Jan 2023 20:37:49
Please don't mess it up lads.

3.) 11 Jan 2023 22:01:32
So second half much better after subs. We simply can't play the West Ham game with Moutinho, Guedes, Hwang amd Raul starting. Ait Nouri needs to reign in the tricks and flicks because like Podence they rarely come off.

4.) 11 Jan 2023 22:02:13
Just what I didn't want. Weird choice of hodge for number 5. Yet again we denied, obvious pen and we have the evidence of a split boot to question the decision this time. No var but what does it take? Two games in row. Terrible terrible officiating. Just rubs salt into the wounds.

5.) 12 Jan 2023 13:43:51
Abbey, I imagine Hodge put his hand up to take it. If so, fair play to the lad for being big enough to take responsibility

12 Nov 2022 20:43:19
Mike Dean strikes again! He's not even on the pitch but still getting decisions wrong.

Golden Boy

1.) 12 Nov 2022 22:11:45
Mike Dean. Just a single four letter word that can't be written here. Penalty and red card. How can this be missed?

2.) 12 Nov 2022 23:12:25
It was criminal, you can have all the camera angles in the world but if the pair of eyes judging it is still prone to big club bias then VAR clearly doesn't count for much?! I want to hear their explanation into HOW that wasn't a pen?! Its the fact that they checked it for all of ten seconds that bothered me, if that's at the other end you just KNOW they are re-watcging that until they come to the right decision!
Then it's the yellow cards, Odegard pulls Moutinho down on the half way line just as we are breaking and no card. Then literally 5 mins later Traore does the exact same thing to Odegard and what a shock straight to the pocket. It really is ruining football for me, with the players Arsenal have they don't need the extra man. Just all too predictable, with Dean on the job ?

3.) 13 Nov 2022 07:27:50
Should we really expect anything more Bullys, as you say totally predictable refereeing bias. VAR is doing nothing to correct some of the mistakes which makes it worse.

If the system that's there to correct the mistakes doesn't, what's the point. In all other sports that employ a video ref they get the decisions clearly right, it's that simple.

4.) 13 Nov 2022 10:49:34
Mike Dean has a big bias in favour of the so called big boys. He was an awful referee and is Just as useless with VAR. He's so bent he could hide behind a corkscrew! He's so dishonest he should be a politcan.

05 Nov 2022 15:12:26
Guedes, Hwang and Podence up top! May as well forfeit the game now.

Golden Boy

1.) 05 Nov 2022 15:24:27
You were saying about Guedes?

2.) 05 Nov 2022 15:30:29
Hold my hands up good goal! Forgot Hwang was on the pitch for the first half hour though.

3.) 05 Nov 2022 15:46:23
Semedo terrible defending!

4.) 05 Nov 2022 16:52:48
Hopefully Lopetegui instills some discipline into the squad. The red card cost us today as we were forced to defend and Brighton made the extra man count.

5.) 05 Nov 2022 17:09:15
Jas the lack of discipline shows the lemming like attitude that's in this team at the moment.

I hope Lopetegui carries a big stick, he'll need it.

6.) 05 Nov 2022 17:11:40
Last chance of a point before the world cup.bottom of the table next Saturday. lots of work for Julen me thinks

7.) 05 Nov 2022 18:13:36
That's the 3rd straight red in 7 games at a rough guess, City, Chelsea and today!

23 Oct 2022 14:33:09
Starting to remind me of the season we signed Roger Johnson and we all know what happened then! This time it was Nathan Collins though.

Golden Boy

1.) 23 Oct 2022 14:57:55
Well we dared to dream when we got promoted. The dream I feel is now over.

2.) 23 Oct 2022 15:00:34
That is the price we pay for p**s poor management from top to bottom. Un-motivated players trotting back as Leicester attack just beggars belief. Will we recover in the second half? It has happened before, actually, against Leicester when we were 3-0 down at half time and won 4-3.

To be honest no amount of crowd support is going to change this, only the players can do that and the crowd will respond, for sure.

3.) 23 Oct 2022 15:06:36
Bring back nuno I’ve always said we have gone backwards since he left

4.) 23 Oct 2022 15:10:04
This is the showing of a team with no hope. and what do you expect when u keep playing the same useless players like nunes podence jonny motinhio and mite as well add costa to that list.might aswell be playing ronan and campbell now.davis is as clueless as bruno was

5.) 23 Oct 2022 15:12:02
Looks like our derby match will be Blues next season.

6.) 23 Oct 2022 15:25:37
well there you go, absolutely pathetc, no challenge, nothing. This lot are stealing a living at the moment. Well done Shi/Sellars, happy now?

7.) 23 Oct 2022 15:27:16
Look on the bright side, if you want to watch Premiership football Villa Park is just up the road! Seems to me they have already thrown in the towel

8.) 23 Oct 2022 15:31:16
If Leics have 6 shots then we will be bottom

9.) 23 Oct 2022 15:40:39
Get davis out now.wel be down by xmas.the portugese lot are finished at the molineux.get ronan and the boys in because like I keep saying theyl.be regulars nxt ssn.

10.) 23 Oct 2022 15:40:43
Ie win 6 nil

11.) 23 Oct 2022 16:01:14
Get Dyche he won't put up with this!

12.) 23 Oct 2022 16:18:14
Agreed Mike

21 Oct 2022 07:00:34
Change of subject; I'm also very concerned about contracts. Adama will leave this summer for Spain as he is free to talk to clubs from January, once a player who we could have sold for £50M will leave for free. Neves may well be sold in January as the transfer fee we can demand will start to decrease once the summer comes along and he emters the last year of his contract. Arguably these have been our two best players so far this season. If we are able to stay up, next season could be very tough too!

Golden Boy

1.) 21 Oct 2022 07:41:26
You're not the only one GB, two of our most effective players at the moment.

Next season could look worse than this believe it or not.

2.) 21 Oct 2022 08:13:20
Should we be relegated I can see a mass exodus.as at lwast 11 players would lwave that I can immediately think of.thru expired contracts or bought on the cheap or relegation clause.so like I said appounting davis till new year stinks of preparing for championship football. (mite as well given the job back2terry connor).its time to see what players like ronan campbell hodge and sucjlike have got.coz theyl be regulars next ssn.this has been an absolute shambles and tome to rid this board.shi sellars and co they are a disgrace aling with half the playingstaff aswell.!

3.) 21 Oct 2022 08:14:12
And if villa get sum1 like poch in soon just rubs more salt init

4.) 21 Oct 2022 09:48:02
What is wrong with some so called supporters or casual observers or simply stirrers? We have players others teams dream of. We're going through a big transition. It didn't work with brunos ideology and we correctly dumped him. Davies has been given the reins and so far I think he's getting things in order again, we depleted up front and we're goal shy but the other night we scored from open play, neves was unlucky hitting post costa should have scored, neves had effort saved decently, we could (should) have been 3 up by half time. The potential is there. The 2 goals we gave away were due to defensive lapses. These things are mendable and Davies is doing more than applying plasters. We know Davies, we seeing a new team gel. References to conner or Saunders are merely wishing the worst upon us WHY? get behind the squad and team both on and off the pitch be the wolves supporters you claim to be and help lift the atmosphere. We all have worries for the future but let's have some confidence and hope to avoid the worst case scenario's. Some on here are throwing in the towel now and it's depressing. Apologies, rant over and look forward to posting again after beating the fox's.

5.) 21 Oct 2022 11:13:19
Well said Abbey!

6.) 21 Oct 2022 12:22:28
Excellent post Abbey. We looked more like a team against Palace.
I think they may have gone back to Lopetegui to see if he would join after World Cup. Beale was right to reject us as he is still finding his feet, but we were right to try as he has excellent coaching history. Let's hope Collins can now get them scoring

So chatting to a mate in Spain this afternoon, he really rates Lopetegui. Says Sevilla fans loved him to the end. He was undermined by the board who kept selling his players due to their poor financial situation. Let's give this guy a chance.

Rogers is so over-rated it's insane! He's won an FA Cup! (And some Scottish football stuff when there was only one team in the league) That's it! Oh and he's sitting below us at the moment.
