Fit and Proper test.

I have not posted before but have been following the current takeover rumour ever since it was first leaked by the Spanish Press concerned about their new national manager.

The current belief is that the new ownership papers are now with the Football league who will duly carry out their fit and proper test for all directors and owners.

This currently has the following conditions 'The Test

One aspect which applies across all the different above bodies is that the fit and proper test must be passed by all directors of a football club and any owners who own a share of 30% or more.

Elements of the Test

There may be slight differences in the tests adopted by the different governing bodies; however, all fit and proper tests include the following elements:

Individuals will be disqualified from acting as directors or becoming an owner if they:

Are prohibited by law from being a director

Are involved or have the power to be involved in another football club

Have unspent criminal convictions

Are bankrupt

Have incurred administration twice as a director of the same or different football clubs'

the one clause 'Are involved or have the power to be involved in another football club' makes me wonder if Robin Li would be banned from owning Wolves if indeed he has been involved in purchasing Milan AC. It worries me.

What are other peoples views?

People thanks for the above information but it's wrong in one respect you cannot be involved or fit to be involved in another FOOTBALL "LEAGUE" Club. All foreign owned interests do not apply to the English football league

Hope that clears up a lot of confusion guys but just to make sure 100% mr Li's involvement in AC Milan will not effect the football leagues fit and proper test.

Thanks for your reply Monswolf.
The football league has no powers over the prem. Does that mean that an owner can be involved in both a premier league club and a chammpionship club. The wording 'Are involved or have the power to be involved in another football club' is a little imprecise.

If owning 2 clubs was a problem they wouldn't even waste their time handing in the paperwork to the Fa.

Depends on where you gathering the info from some sources say involved in another club, but the precise wording is football league club. Our fit and proper tests have no bearing on any over seas leagues just as our laws have no bearing in other countries

Football league pertains to both premier league and football leagues.
