Really looking forward to see what kind of position we'll end up in the Championship next season. Personally, I can't see us challenging for automatic promotion, but anywhere above mid table and I'd be delighted. Although people think we should be amongst the favourites, you've got to look at what other sides have to offer. Just saying, my money is on Watford for auto promotion this season. They're shaping into a really good side this season. Up top, they have Troy Deeney (20+ goals in last two years) Matej Vydra, then in midfield they have Almen Abdi (the lad who scored a cracking free-kick against us at the Mol) and a couple of others signed from Udinese. To add to this, they have added experience in Lloyd Dyer, Heurelho Gomes and Craig Cathcart. Trust me, they'll be up and around the automatic promotion spots come May. They are a very impressive side! Because I live down that way, I have been to watch them a few times over the past few years. Just putting a little tip out there.

I live down that way as well and in my opinion they are a club that are getting well above their station, plus I know too many of their fans and they spout a right load of nonsense. I fully expect Deeney to go in the summer and although Vydra was very impressive in the first half season he had at Watford, he really went off his game later in the season and showed he couldn't cut it last year either. I could see them challenging for the lower end of the playoff places, but don't see them as automatic promotion. As for us? After the past few years, I'd happily settle for mid table this season and then a promotion push the following campaign, but in the crazy world of the Championship, who knows what will happen.

Live in Herts as well and have to agree with the 2nd poster, they're punching well above their weight. The strategy of having a team full of loanees completely backfired last year, is totally short term and I expect them to be around mid table again. As poster 2 points outs, Deeney is on his way. Surprise packages next year - Bournemouth & Rotherham?

Fair enough. I guess it is a very hit and miss strategy. I personally think their model of club is actually very good and they are able to attract a very good quality of player. Despite this, you can never really know if these foreign players will cut it in the Championship. There are rumours of them signing Ambrosini who was at AC Milan last season. He might be about 37, but the likes of Andrea Pirlo are 35 and still able to completely control games. If I had to pick a team that were a slight surprise package at the top of the table, it would be them.
