We have a striker and his name is Nathan Fraser. He showed a maturity beyond his years when he came on v Brentford.
He scored but he also impressed holding the ball with great movement around the area.
A natural goal scorer so why waste money on Danny Ings or Che Adam's - these players are has beens who cannot guarantee a place in their respective teams?
Do you agree?

Agree Telford, I think we have to give these young lads a go, Ings if kept fit would do a job, but his fitness has always been an issue

For me I still think we need an experienced striker, but neither Ings or Adams. Ings is West Hams problem, and Adams not good enough. It's maybe a pity we had the winter break as we could have played Fraser in a few more senior games to get a better picture.
You're right though he performed really well against Brentford.

Yes Telford.

YES. 100% Telford, if he fits GON's plans and it would seem he does.

As Gary O'Neil has said earlier this week, Fraser is 18 years old and shouldn't be seen as the answer so early in his career. He needs time to develop.

Jas, totally agree! He has potential to be an absolute diamond for us if handled with care. Gary clearly understands that he needs time to develop throwing him in too early to be in far to many games would be crazy. Premier League is unforgiving and how many young players get thrown in early burn out and disappear. Let's make sure young Frasier doesn't become another one! He needs to be handled with care!

I said during the pre season friendlies he seemed to be a decent prospect, particularly paired with Cunha, a loan signing is probably needed though as I think we need at least 4 strikers and with 2 out on loan we need cover. Although I want to see Nathan Fraser given game time at this stage, it probably needs to be in 20 to 30 minute bites from the bench.

Saw King John score his first Wolves goal against Huddersfield on 19 September 1970 and Fraser is in the same mould so let’s see how he develops.

Let's not big him up too early. Many "gems" herald a false dawn.

Any striker bought in during this window has to be better than what he have currently. Once Hwang comes back he will go back into the team so the new striker will only have a few weeks to get up and running and prove his worth. I am more than happy to not waste money on ings or Adams and use fraiser

Fair enough Derry but his movement for his goal and awareness to stay onside tells you he is not going to be a flash in the pan and he has a bright future in the game if all goes well for the lad.

Look what happened to Fabio Silva when he was forced to step up earlier than he should have.

Difference is jas fraser IS a striker. By fabio's own admission he's not a number 9. Obviously fraser has to learn the way and fabio was chucked in at the deep end but he learnt very little.

Look what happened to Robbie Keane when he was thrown in at the deep end Jas M and Wayne Rooney.

Who was it that said if you are good enough it makes no difference how old you are? Wayne Rooney played his first game aged 16 and look how he turned out - as a player.

Think that was me, Telford. I said if you have the ability then age shouldn't matter. I'm not convinced Silva ever had the ability. Imo.

Silva was totally overpriced and oversold by Jorge Mendez Belfast.
If we had paid, maybe 5 million for him then without a doubt he would have been moved on before now.
I like his attitude and I also think he has talent but I fear that the 35million price has become a mill stone.
I do hope that it works for him at Rangers.

Telford that would have meant we had only badly overpaid for him not mind blowingly catastrophically over paid for him!
Dont forget his wages as well, over £4m a year more than he should have been on and he will be for 6 years - £24m+ paid to him that should never have been paid!
Close to £60m wasted! For a club with a turnover of well under £200m pa that is totally unforgiveable even before you note that we did almost exactly the same thing 12 months later with Guedes and will again lose a similar amount.
Note I exaggerate as we can deduct any loan fees or contribution to wages paid by the clubs they are out on loan at to the end of their contracts so maybe the losses are a mere what £75 -80m between the 2 - or 2 Reuben Neves!

I understand the likes of Robbie Keane, Michael Owen and Wayne Rooney being mentioned but we must remember that they were seen as on a totally different level to the players they were playing with at the time. Fraser is not on their level. He needs time to develop.

For every Wayne Rooney, there are 10 Francis Jeffers
