To be fair to Rowett, he had Blues in and around the play offs before he was replaced. He also steadied Derby and got them up the table and now he has them 1 point behind the play off places with a game in hand.

Imo jas M rowett punched above his weight at b'ham and hasn't got derby playing or in better position as he did with b'ham having much better squad and pkayers at derby but i'm obviously gona be biased cus I work with daft brummies.

So do I. I get to watch Blues and Villa quite a lot through work and can say that Gary Rowett certainly had Blues organised. Can't say the same for the managers that came after him.

Have to agree with Jas here, Rowett was working miracles with a VERY average team when they sacked him! Pretty sure they were in 6th at the time, look at them since. As for his time at Derby well be fair he is working at a club which is famous for being run poorly and still doing better than many before him (there up to 5th if they win there game in hand) .

Besides your bluenose mates are wrong, it wasn’t loosing Rowett that’s cost them its replacing him with terrible managers! Zola is a lovely guy but doesn’t have the first clue how to defend and then they replaced him with Harry Redknapp who’s only achievement is to have virtually bankrupted most clubs he’s managed through dodgy deals and terrible contracts! And looks like that’s still the case, filled the team with useless old boys that are past it, no doubt on obscene contracts and that’s what’s truly hurting them now!
All just shows how lucky we are…. in Fosun we trust! ;)

Phil- Haha no problem fella, I took no offence. As I always say on here everyone’s allowed an opinion and I’m not silly enough to think that mine are always right ;) Have to say that I’m pretty lucky in so much as I don’t really work with any rival fans and can entirely understand after recent years why there’s no love lost with it (don’t even wanna think how I would of snapped at someone cracking jokes the day after our double relegation) . I do rate Rowett and think he was treated pretty badly by the Blues and as such I am pleased to see him have the last laugh so far. That said I do also think your points fair in that he will likely always be a manager who’s talent lies in getting the best out of a bad bunch, rather than a top end manager (kinda like a certain Mr McCarthy;)
So agreed, I don’t think Rowetts a great manager by any stretch…. to be honest there’s only one of those in our league right now (for me) and thank goodness for all of us…. he’s a wolf! In Nuno we trust ;)
