I agree 762. Walter has had a good look at the current squad and the first few additions. His task now gets much harder as we suddenly have a much bigger squad to integrate, get match fit and keep happy and motivated.
He will be experimenting and rotating the team for a while until he can find the strongest side and if we can have a cup run it gives more players match time.
This is a transitional season and no doubt there will be some bumps in the road. First task is to sort the defence as Iorfa and Hause have gone off the boil big time.

Interesting with the old squad who has come on and who has suffered under Zenga.

Improved:
Coady
Batth
Mason
Wallace - but he was improving anyway
Saville (perhaps)

Worsened:
Iorfa
Hause
Henry
Edwards (perhaps)

Consistent:
Price
Ikeme

Unknown:
Evans.

I think Price actually has improved this season already, he seems to have added a good set piece technique to his array of abilities.

Add lonergan to the consistently crap section, we need a decent keeper what happened to Martinez did arsenal have him back missed that.

Price is definitely the best midfielder out of the old squad, the rest can go for me.

Good comments European, spot on with players Henry, Iorfa and Hause were terrible and I now it's early days but goalkeeper looks a bit iffy especially on crosses could of lost we the game, needs sorting at the back looked terrible just shows that we need a centre half badly else all the hard work from midfield to front line will be wasted .

Maybe Hause and Iorfa are no worse, but are now playing in a team that is more about attacking and isn't set up to protect defence, they're suddenly being relied on as they always should have been and it's exposing that they can't be relied on?

Maybe it illustrates Kenny's cautious defensive playstyle was necessary with the players he had available to him? But if so, makes an even bigger joke of us selling Stearman, definitely wasn't for footballing reasons.

Stearman was carp. He will go down in Fulhams history as the worst defender they ever signed. People have short memories it wasn't till he was sold that he was the boo boys favorite target. Get over it he has gone and hopefully never coming back.

It's reasonable to think he was better than Hause or Iorfa, not in potential but at present / last season. He must have been OK to have won POT's season before.

I wouldn't judge anything on how he was at Fulham, don't think he wanted to be there and most players are no good if their motivation is shot. I'm not suggesting we should bring him back, there's better options, but it does shoot a massive hole through what the club claimed about selling him for football reasons.
