really, free agent over 30?

4.) 07 Aug 2017
07 Aug 2017 11:24:16
They must have a list of 14 strikers they are after. And they will flex and push agents as they feel right as the club are the only ones that know what all the players/ parties involved want in terms of deal. Exciting to watch.
Gray
Gallagher
Soares
Aquino
Hernandez
These are the names touted at the minute. I wander what is going on behind the scenes. UTW.

31 year old Brazilian striker who has scored 4 goals in the last two years - hope its not!

6.) 07 Aug 2017
07 Aug 2017 11:30:31
Good job it's only a Rumour then! I don't think so!
⚽️😉👍.

7.) 07 Aug 2017
07 Aug 2017 11:42:09
31 years old only ever played in Brasil had about fifteen clubs hope not.

8.) 07 Aug 2017
07 Aug 2017 11:58:54
Hope it's Andre Gray or Patrick Bamford 🙏 Bamford looked very useful when he came on Saturday. Either of them will be a MASSIVE step up on Dicko.

9.) 07 Aug 2017
07 Aug 2017 12:27:22
Really can't see it being gray it might be crouchie Stoke bought another forward putting him down the pecking order he will be better than mason anyway.

10.) 07 Aug 2017
07 Aug 2017 12:56:50
Fully agree with you re Bamford Paul - although I've only ever had negative replies from people when I've suggested him before.

Think he'd be a great addition.

11.) 07 Aug 2017
07 Aug 2017 13:38:39
Hmm it's interesting Paul. I think gray would be an upgrade on dicko. I'm not sure middlesborough would sell bamford to us. But from all the strikers linked I'm not sure who to go for we need 20 odd goals from them to make sure we go up. In terms of a direct and scoring number 10/ second striker I'm not sure jota could do it. Jota seems like the one wolves went for post afobe deal never happening. But he didn't look as strong but in a counter attack game I can see goals from him and good link up play between him, cav and Costa. I also liked his passion he chased and harried Christie all afternoon.

12.) 07 Aug 2017
07 Aug 2017 14:00:42
I think crouch due to his dominance in the air and also holding the record for most prem headed goals would offer something different at this l feel would offer something different at this level and he's get stuff put on a plate to him from likes of cav and costa.

07 Aug 2017 13:04:03
Didn't you say Eder last week bertie basset, is this from the same source?

25 Jul 2017 12:47:48
I'm hearing we're being linked with Portuguese forward Eder (Ederzito Antonio Macedo Lopes) a fee of about €6,000,000 should secure the strikers services. Just hat I heard from a reliable source.
BB.

14.) 07 Aug 2017
07 Aug 2017 14:24:33
I can 100% guarantee it's not andré gray.

15.) 07 Aug 2017
07 Aug 2017 14:38:30
Bertiebasset? BB should stand for Bulls--t Billy!

16.) 07 Aug 2017
07 Aug 2017 16:19:45
Hahaha PT😂😂.

17.) 07 Aug 2017
07 Aug 2017 17:08:02
It's Benik Afobe. Sorry, I must have awoken in a parallel universe where I was ULF.

18.) 07 Aug 2017
07 Aug 2017 17:23:30
Jas,
I think ULF stands for Ultra Low Frequency or Unusually Lousy Forecaster.

I was going to recommend him getting a job in brand marketing at The Mol but then I thought he would throw his toys out if we didn't sign the Great Sulk, the Blessed Benik Afobe.

19.) 07 Aug 2017
07 Aug 2017 17:38:23
I would like to see Bamford as well. I think he could suit our style of play. A bit concerned that Rhodes is more limited in his contribution.

20.) 07 Aug 2017
07 Aug 2017 17:48:48
tims spiers says that he is told reports of an £8m bid for Sam Gallagher are wide of the mark. Wolves still in for him on loan. And still playing the waiting game.

21.) 07 Aug 2017
07 Aug 2017 18:03:55
Sooner pay 10 million for gallacher. than for jordan rhodes. So up the bid jeff. Asap. forever wolves.

22.) 07 Aug 2017
07 Aug 2017 18:06:21
I would be happy with that. If, and I know its a big if, we get promoted then next season we could be looking at a higher level of striker.

23.) 07 Aug 2017
07 Aug 2017 18:53:30
I might b wrong but I still think it's a foreign striker a mendes man who's going to score 20 to 25 goals Gallagher Rhodes Afobe aren't going to get that I think we r considering a bid for Rhodes.

24.) 07 Aug 2017
07 Aug 2017 19:17:15
Much as I would like Andre Gray or Benik Afobe or, better yet, Vincent Aboubakar and much as I really do not want Sam Gallagher (too immobile) or Patrick Bamford (too weak and suspect attitude) or Jordan Rhodes (past his best) or Abel Hernandez (doesn't score enough) I actually don't think it will be any of them. Or Peter Criuch for that matter though I wouldn't mind him. I believe the new striker will be foreign, playing abroad and South American. I believe, because that's what I've been told by someone who supposedly knows within the club, that it will be Tiquinho Soares. Could be wrong of course.

25.) 07 Aug 2017
07 Aug 2017 19:38:28
Why don't we just get both, we are rich!

26.) 07 Aug 2017
07 Aug 2017 19:45:36
I've heard no names on the striker at all. Gallagher seems unlikely as well so no idea who we'll get.

27.) 07 Aug 2017
07 Aug 2017 21:09:51
Tiquino soares I agree he's by far the best of a bad bunch he will get us the goals we need.

Re Deep Throat, my CV is ok :-P I’ve dropped out too much, but I might send it into Wolves one day, it impresses me when I remember. I was on fast track into management in Lerners brand marketing bank (biggest Affinity card issuer in the World, did Man U and Newcastle FC), mentored by the VP who was one of his relatives. So I'm obviously house trained :-)

Every decision Fosun have made so far has been good, however this ends up I’m sure they’ll have good reasons. Nothing wrong debating the merit's of this or that potential striker, aside from the footballing reasons.

29.) 08 Aug 2017
08 Aug 2017 00:13:27
Adze how can you guarantee it's not Andre grey?

30.) 08 Aug 2017
08 Aug 2017 09:45:43
ULF. Send your CV in. If you get an interview, don't mention Afobe! I'm sure Nuno knows all about him but also knows he's not PL quality. When a young striker performs well in our division, great. If a PL club buys him, they are expecting him to continue scoring. Afobe has proven over two seasons in the PL that he can't reproduce his championship form. I bet Bournemouth regret buying him. Nuno expects that all players he is bringing in now can perform for us in the PL, so why buy Afobe even if he would drop a division?

Our brand (I prefer "image") is not rural or urban, as far as I'm concerned we aspire to be international. There is a revolution going on at Wolves in every aspect, particularly playing style. You've said a few times that you won't support the club any longer if we do this thing and we do that thing. Money Shop and Andre Gray come to mind, amongst others. I don't think any true supporter says that.

Yes we are all inclusive and glam, that’s our heritage. Like SJH going as a kid alongside the poorest people, like Billy Wright. Re me supporting the club, I mean about getting involved. You need to be in community or be able to identify with something to support it. I'm not in community, out of area and even excluded from Molmix so it’s already difficult, and things like Moneyshop have a negative impact on identity that repels some people. It is maybe telling that while the Mol was sold out Saturday, Corporate boxes weren’t anywhere near.

Re Gray, I only kicked off about that being for £20m when they apparently wouldn’t pay more than £10m for Afobe, and most of my comments were defensive against attacks rather than attacking. I only care about the identity of the striker is if it’s a big money signing as a talisman, as they’d obviously impact the clubs identity. There are identity issues with Gray that don’t rule him out if he’s matured but should prompt questions.

Re Afobe not Prem but Gray is, not according to the respective clubs fans forums. They claim at 24 Afobe has potential in Prem, at 26 Gray doesn’t and isn’t good enough for Prem, top championship only. But who knows what Nuno could get out of them or any other player, I have total trust he’s a top coach and can make players better.

Hopefully we’ll have a new striker signed by Saturday, I don’t think Nuno would want to be relying on Bonatini without match fitness, and on Dicko who is still to click with the system. I have no doubt now Fosun will do whatever’s necessary to get us to Prem this year, now they’ve seen from Saturday Nuno can make it work.

Ulf, at the end of the day we have to trust Nuno to get the best striker in. At £20 mil for Gray, that's stupid money if he's not guaranteed to perform in the PL.

I assume we will get a Mendes client in from the Continent, unknown in the championship, which is a good thing. Probably on loan or half what Gray would cost. If other clubs know a striker already, they know his weaknesses.

There must be several strikers keen to play in the PL. What better way than playing for us now, at the very worst it puts them firmly in the shop window. At best, they go up with us to the PL.

Although I've got preferences as long as it's not a big name signing for more money than Neves I don't mind who we get, as it wouldn't overshadow anything else and I totally trust Nuno to get the right player to work in the system. I'm hoping Bonatini can become our big hit, at 23 and not already a big name he's perfect. It's just the issue of match fitness. I think though Fosun will really go for it now, it's obvious from Saturday it's going to work with Nuno and we may see a couple more. My only concern with more continentals is match fitness now it's the live season.
