After watching wolves destroy Leicester on sat I have full faith in Nuno and fosun. The players brought in this season are top class and a good Leicester team couldn't handle them. I for 1 think bonatini must be class or nuno wouldn't have signed him. I don't think a 20 goal a season striker is needed as most of our goals will be scored by midfielders. Shame only 12k were there on sat to see just how class Nuno and the new boys were.

Totally agree. A lot has been said of it being just a friendly but we can't take away that they are a good side and better than many we will face. Yes they were a week behind in prep but we've got a virtually new team. I'm confident and have faith in what Nuno is doing and have to say it was one of the better performances that I've seen. It didn't look like wolves at times. I though Barry Douglas was a class act and at £1m is potentially the bargain of the window as a whole (not just our window) .

There's a lot to be positive about so let's get behind them and be patient. I'll be cheering them on from the southbank on Saturday.

COME ON ME BABBIES.

Burton Albion beat Leicester 2-1 in their pre-season friendly. And that was without their new top striker, who's busted his knee weeks after the club broke their transfer record to buy him (Moxey has become a Director there, the curse continues) .

Leicester are well off the pace, we can't assume much from our game with them. Just like we can't read much into the Shrewsbury result.

Agreed and it's starting for real in 50 hours time. But at times we looked excellent and much better than a lot of what I've seen from them in a long time.

Food for thought Ulf. However I think Leicester put out a full strength side against us, and we are still gelling virtually a whole new team.

Moxey has gone for a burton thankfully.

Moxey should have done Ricky Gervais for plagiarism over his David Brent character.

I know if it was on Sky more people would be able to watch the game, but being selfish I’m glad Sky didn’t pick it. There’s nothing better than the first game of the season being at home at 3 o’clock and hopefully a nice sunny day.

I'm glad they haven't. nothing like a home game first of the season at 3pm.

No it's not! If this game was on tv it wouldn't be a sell out or a 3pm ko.

ULF, re Leicester v Burton - Leicester arguable fielded a much weaker team than the XI that started against us.

I'm sure we b up for this one apart from a couple of wins in recent years we haven't got a great record against borough especially away I'm more concerned when we play the burtons and the barnsleys the super computer from from the Birmingham Mail puts borough top and us finishing second.

Re MWP, I'm just managing my expectations. I'm mindful we missed lots of chances against Leicester and ended up having to force a goal with a moment of super quality. The lack of a striker we know is sharp / up to speed is the only thing stopping me assuming a win and us going on a roll early season. I'm preparing myself for promotion being a project over a couple of seasons. That way I won't mind if we lose, as long as we have some good performances, if we win then excellent :-)

If Bonatini clicks or Dicko gets his mojo back though we could be on our way.

Really looking forward to Saturday's game and I do believe we are on the right lines. But I remember feeling something similar last season after destroying a Reading side who were still getting organised. A draw against Boro would not be a disaster because we know that ultimately a trio of Neves Jota and Costa in front of new defence is going to blow sides away. Just hope that we don't find new targets to take the place of Saville, Evans and Edwards if things start slowly. It's fair enough that if players are not performing they need changing and we have to trust a that Nuno will not have favourites. Even the new stars will have bad days I just hope not all on the same day. Really want to see the Mol become a deafening positive fortress as it has been in the past.

Molineux hasn't been a fortress for years. There are many reasons for this part of it is opposition managers come to the mol and stifle us. 10 men behind the ball and play time wasting techniques in the first twenty minutes. It's painful. Hopefully this year we keep possession and attack when it opens up for us. Not commit 8 players forward and get caught out we also must reduce the goals conceded at set pieces most notably in recent seasons from corners. It's so annoying to see. Another aspect of this comes from having a forward that can keep possession and gain ground and really put pressure on the opposition. If we lost this weekend I think alarm bells should be going off say Nuno you need 1 probably 2 strikers to win promotion in this league. IMO we still need an aggressive midfielder who can command the midfield not bully but command. More vision and a good tackle in him. Surely uncle Jorge has a player of this Cali team we can tempt into a loan for a season. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏.

Totally agree we need another striker and dominant midfielder now not when the transfer window closes a lot of teams now how to play us at the mol we need a plan b so we can break teams down if things r not going so well I think this weekend will b close just the one goal in it.

These Striker rumours seem to have died down now the season is here.

Looks like it's going to be a loan from a premiership club once they decide their squads.

Let's hope our Brazilian is the answer.

Can't wait for tomorrow I'll have my free scarf above my head pre KO.
