Andreas Weimann in on loan from Derby till end of the season

1.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 10:58:41
another winger zero goals this season.25 goals since 2009.is this really what we need?

2.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 11:13:13
By all accounts he can play across the front line and prefers the central role, according to Tim Spiers on Twitter.

3.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 11:24:08
Saw this on sky sports honestly had no reaction to it we all know we need a striker and goals badly and we sign a guy who has scored 4 goals in 40 apps like I hope i'm wrong and he gets the goals but this has flop written all over it not confident at all with the possible signings in this window if this is the type of guy we are going for

4.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 12:04:01
Agree guys very disappointed with this one got to give a chance I suppose but it looks like another Danny Graham, Grant Holt and Yannick Sagbo to me.

5.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 12:08:10
Imagine he will bang him upfront, you are all putting the mockers on him before he's even played a game for us. I wonder if you lot are fans or just enjoy spouting bollocks on here.

6.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 12:20:51
Its just an opinion like I said I hope i'm wrong and he scores goals for us which we need

7.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 12:37:29
He scored 12 in a season with Lambert in the premier league playing upfront and then got shoved out wide. I think he could be a very good addition for us upfront, Lambert obviously knows how to get him scoring. Let's give him a chance before we judge!

8.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 12:42:10
He has often been played out wide at Villa and Derby. When Lambert played him upfront he was successful. Have some faith Wolves fans! Lambert knows what he's doing.

9.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 12:42:26
Has anybody actually stopped and thought about this signing? Has anybody actually seen him play? Or is everybody so used to moaning that it just comes naturally

10.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 12:51:06
Saw him a few times for villa actually liked him its just since than it hasn't really worked for him like I hope they play him upfront and not on the wing its just there's that worry with when we had graham that it might not work out

11.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 12:54:48
My mate's a Derby fan and rates him, just doesn't get a run in the side as Russell is always ahead of him.

12.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 12:57:02
Yeh seen him play a few times, definitely got to have the strikers roll, when done Lambo Thellwell and Big Jeff. 👍 Cavaleiro Weimann and Costa! 👍 Dicko now becomes 3rd choice imo.

13.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 13:01:59
Another Austrian like Mairhoffer, ex villa like graham, daley, frogatt perhaps he will be the success and injury free player we all wish for, but the omens don't look good

14.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 13:04:47
goodbye charlie mason

15.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 13:12:34
I agree give the lad a chance but ask yourself would any of us yesterday say go and get this lad? I think not but I might be wrong.

16.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 13:51:15
We've got nothing to lose the striker standard here is the lowest it's been in years I'm sure he will add to the group good luck to him.

17.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 14:14:48
To those knocking the Weimann signing, here is what Paul Lambert thinks of him:

"He scored big goals for me when he was at Villa, against teams like Liverpool and Manchester United, and he certainly knows where the goal is. He knows English football and he knows the league and he is somebody who I have worked with and I know well"

18.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 14:22:24
To be fair PL has got it right so far not that I didn't like Zenga passion I think watching wolves on tv then to now we have improved a lot and there is more organization to the team so hell with it let's give this player all the support us wolves fans can and trust Lambert tomato the right decision up the wolves!

19.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 14:26:34
*to make not tomato haha

20.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 14:34:54
I wouldn't be surprised to see Mason go. He's been scouted by Bristol City for the last 12 months. £5m would do it.

21.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 14:37:52
For Gods sake give the lad a chance. I remember all of the "so called experts" saying Chris Woods was rubbish-Leeds have put a £15m price tag on him, Chris Martin-lazy and fat, now top scorer for Fulham. We will find out when he plays for us.

22.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 16:25:32
Ben Marshall. Swansea or Wolves? Toss a coin

23.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 17:16:10
Well said CovWolf.
He will do the business for us.

24.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 17:23:23
Another over inflated valuation of yours Wavidsmith. No way can Mason have gone up in value since we acquired him and wasn't that for £3m? Not sure where you are getting your figures from but they are way off the mark - eg also your figure of £5m for Coady. At that rate, Caveleiro really is worth £7m but I think not!

25.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 19:03:44
stop being such a stick in the mud Old Wulf. what's in a million here or there, anyway? besides which, coady probably is worth at least £4 million, especially when you consider wolves knocked back a £5 million pound bid for mason last window.

26.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 20:57:43
Matty Taylor available but Wolves won't pay the big figures, so may well be Leeds. Can't believe Wolves would lose out with owners as rich as Fosun. Taylor is a real proven goal scorer, what do they expect?

27.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 22:34:13
Why does everyone want us to waste money this window? Let's face it our season is basically over so may aswell bring through the youngsters

28.) 19 Jan 2017
19 Jan 2017 22:50:50
Wavidsmith, Nouha Dicko is also a proven goalscorer at this level. He just lacks a bit of confidence after coming back from a horrific injury.

29.) 20 Jan 2017
20 Jan 2017 07:05:00
It's a good piece of management. Dicko now has direct competition for the striker role and both he and Weimann have a chance to establish themselves by the summer. Weimann played his best football working off Benteke so maybe he will work well with Bod. By the start of next season maybe there will be more competition from Zyro and Ennis.

30.) 20 Jan 2017
20 Jan 2017 07:44:48
This a Lambert's first signing. so we can assume he has given it significant thought.

Let's travel optimistically. I am just pleased the Manager now controls all 1st Team matters.

31.) 20 Jan 2017
20 Jan 2017 11:12:19
Have to admit I would not go mad on getting players in this transfer window and pay over the odds, I would save money and keep till next season if I could not get them at a decent price.

At this present time I think we are okay and Lambert is doing very good, l think middle of table we will finish anything else will be a bonus, but next season we need to be ready and push for play offs at least and Fosun need to spend some serious money to get we challenging for promotion if Lambert wants some, we will find out.
Hope we can have a good cup run, you never now.

32.) 20 Jan 2017
20 Jan 2017 11:28:18
I've read on Twitter that we tried to sign Weismann before he signed for Derby so I'm struggling to see how Lambert has had anything to do with this, he's Thelwells choice.

33.) 20 Jan 2017
20 Jan 2017 12:28:14
Pure spin that they tried to sign him earlier IMO. This has PL dna all over it. Have every confidence that he will do well.

34.) 20 Jan 2017
20 Jan 2017 12:46:25
I think everyone wants Dicko to get back to his best but how long do you wait?

PL should drop Dicko for BOD and play Weimann off the striker to use his pace. Mason can be back up for Weimann.

It would be great to see a Defender come in as I still feel that is our weakest area. January is such a difficult window to get value for money and a player on form. IMO it's Preseason starting from now

35.) 20 Jan 2017
20 Jan 2017 12:54:45
One more stick in the mud please Wavidsmith. If you really believe Bristol City bid £5m for Mason then you certainly are living in cloud cookoo land. There would have been no goalkeepers or car drivers left in Bristol because they'd all have had their hands well and truly snapped off!

36.) 20 Jan 2017
20 Jan 2017 13:26:13
old stick in the mud

37.) 20 Jan 2017
20 Jan 2017 13:28:04
honestly, they did mate. I know it was on twitter, but they bid something like £5.5m last window. make what you will about it.

38.) 20 Jan 2017
20 Jan 2017 15:49:32
Wonder if Williamson will play against Norwich, think I would play him if Jerome is playing looked strong in the air scored a good goal at the molineux because they gave him space.
Williamson would be a good choice to stop him, that's my opinion what you think wolves fans.
Also I would stick with Bod and Mason up front.

39.) 20 Jan 2017
20 Jan 2017 16:14:05
Bigwolf - Before the Villa game, Danny Batth had made 246 headed clearances in the Championship this season, 61 more than any other player.

Batth has made mistakes, granted. How many goals has he prevented though?

Do you want batth to be the one dropped?

40.) 20 Jan 2017
20 Jan 2017 16:48:10
Unfortunately it's generally his feet that are the problem, Jamespd, not his head.

41.) 20 Jan 2017
20 Jan 2017 17:04:21
Oldwolf - compared to what quality of defender in the championship? And wasn't bigwolf referring to an aerial threat?

Do I put you in the section of wolves fans that just LOVE TO MOAN AND MOAN BECAUSE NOBODY IS GOOD ENOUGH, EVER?

42.) 21 Jan 2017
21 Jan 2017 10:16:53
Lets face it - if his stats are better than zero goals in 16 games then he's better than the crap that is nouha dicko.

No time for sentiment in this game - ship him out. now . what he's done in the past has gone - time to move on.

Youre as good as your last game should be the mentality and I for one am fed up of strikers who can't score. From keogh to doyle to dicko. Get him shipped out to free up the space.

{Ed001's Note - so every time a player has a bad game you think the club should sell them and buy someone who had a good game in their previous one?}

43.) 21 Jan 2017
21 Jan 2017 12:04:01
Jamespd1982 it's obviously you are a Batth fan fair enough, but can you honestly say that Batth as been playing well, by the way I am not moaning just stating a fact they can play him every week for me but football is a game of opinions and I think he needs to up is game and start getting back to is best form to continue in side with Williamson now fit.

44.) 21 Jan 2017
21 Jan 2017 15:00:03
Thething. I think you need to show some more support for a player who has scored a lot of goals for our club. Dicko needs a goal soon no doubt about it, what he doesn't need is people like you slagging him off saying we should sell him because he hasn't scored yet after coming back from a potentially career ending injury. Have a bit more loyalty to our players

45.) 21 Jan 2017
21 Jan 2017 15:13:29
Big wolf- my one point was he isn't error prone but he has made mistakes like all payers do in 90 minutes. As a centre back mistakes are highlighted more and even more so in Danny's case because he's captain. I'd argue that there aren't many better centre backs in our league. The other point was that having made so many headed clearances this season, clearly he is the choice to play against a big man if you thing Jerome is an aerial threat.

Bath's mistakes have been positional mostly and the lad has had so many different partners. It's no coincidence that his positional mistakes have dryer up recently now stears is consistently playing with him. Having said this, Williamson is also excellent but currently batth and stears have a good thing going.

Watch batth score 3 own goals today now I've typed this.

46.) 22 Jan 2017
22 Jan 2017 08:47:36
Definetly should keep dicko around! People complain when a player isn't loyal to the club when they want to leave but then some fans aren't loyal to players when they aren't performing. don't get me wrong next season if nothings changed then get rid but why does it even matter this season now? Our seasons over basically, mid table finish. 3 good summer signings along with Graham and zyro, a good pre season then let's have it 2017/ 2018
