He's 32 :- (

We seem to be all in for doing it this season, our loanees are only for 12 months, but we're falling down on spending money to get a proven striker we can rely on.

As long as promotion isn't considered essential this season and they don't blame Zenga for failing to achieve it fine, but otherwise, if Fosun are demanding promotion this season, if we fail it will be their own fault for not spending, not Walters. I hope they don't go raising expectations, fail them then try blaming anyone else.

Have to agree Ulf, but will wait till the window closes to praise or criticise transfer deals. Quality striker and centre half still needed imo.

No Dappa, I never expected them to seriously try for promotion this season because of buying late, having no pre-season, new manager, new players with no time to gel the team etc.

But Walter has done an awesome job and given us real hope of promotion that I don't think we were really entitled to this season. So I don't mind if we fall short this season, I just hope if we do they don't blame Walter because I think he's the best thing to happen to Wolves in decades, maybe since Bully and I want him here long-term.

Chill everyone. We will sign a striker. We may not get promotion this season but it won't be for want of trying, but I think we will.

Walter is unbeaten in five matches so far and we are fast improving. To put things into perspective, a year ago we signed Grant Holt.

Why is everyone getting so worried for? He's been looking at back up strikers and wanted Pinilla before Gladon, that's all. They are still after Rhodes or similar.

Afobe is linked now. The only thing that worries me is why a company worth £50 billion are only taking loaned players for the first 2 years. Even if we signed Rhodes, it would also end up a 12 month loan. It must be some sort of financial stipulation.

Why give long term contracts? Easier to move them on if their no good, with no losses on transfer fees. Plus pay bigger wages to get better quality loans. Makes sense to me, then offer them long term contracts if we achieve our goal.

Very smart loans i'd say.

I think they've been very good so far we are not talking about players for the future hear we are talking now and let's face it we haven't had a bad start. If Dadi had scored the penalty we would be level top with Huddersfield. I'm pleased about the amount of goals we've conceded compared to last year and can only see us getting stronger. From Zengas comments he's looking to bulk out the squad which is probably why they are after so many. I expect at least 2 strikers and 2 defenders/ defensive midfielders to come in the next five days. Because of the amount of loans we have I would think they will be purchased. If we get a positive result tomorrow it will propel us with more confidence as Huddesfield beat Newcastle.

The idea of player loans (and a lot clubs do this now) is in my opinion because the wages the player / agent demands scare the club to commit to a player on a crippling 3 year wage who is happy to stay and pick up easy money once their holiday period up and mediocre performances put them in the reserves .

Look what it did to Portsmouth and plenty others as well .

I don't mind now, happy with Gladon, think he will be good in our system. Still need another striker but happy if another continetal, new names to England will make them more ours, mean they belong more and play for the shirt and us and the pack, than poaching star players off other English clubs.
