Apparently Ireland tour could be cancelled if takeover is complete while in tour.

If the baggies get a takeover complete before us I'm going to be pissed off! The way our club is treating us is absolutely rubbish! This NDA is a load of Moxey crap, if robin Li wanted one then Lopetegui wouldn't have leaked anything and the Milan owner wouldn't be so public! So this is again Moxey trying to make himself look more important than he actually is when at the end of the day he's only pissing off the good people that pay his wages because nobody else gives a toss! I hope if they have any decency towards us they'll now say something just to reassure us because if they don't and for some reason this deal hasn't come off and the stuff does then we will look like right #mugs and Moxey has sat back and watched that happen!

{Ed001's Note - why would Lopetegui be bound by an NDA? He is not a part of the takeover, just approached to manage the club in the event it goes through. He would have signed no contract, so cannot be bound by one. Unlike Moxey, who is bound by two, one in the deal and one in his working contract. Why do people bitch when they haven't a clue what they are bitching about?}

People might "Bitch" about things they aren't so clued up on because not being clued up doesn't stop you caring.
It's on, it's off, it's Li, it's not, the fans on here are grasping at straws, if we hadn't been given any information to begin with'or even if we had been given a snippet from the club stating that there is or isn't any truth in any of it, then the "Bitching" wouldn't be happening.

{Ed001's Note - there has been no 'on' or 'off'. People are just making knee jerk reactions over nothing. You lot need to relax and just wait and see. These things take months.}

3.) 17 Jul 2016
17 Jul 2016 08:24:12
The person who approached him would have been though so your talking rubbish! Our club is looking like the domestic equivalent of England, they think the rest of the world sits there waiting for the big news of who's taking over the massive job of England but nobody apart from the English care so just get on with it and stop pissing about! The same for us is that nobody else gives a toss so just give the people who do care a bit of info and stop Being so secretive like this is the most anticipated news the world has been waiting for because if they don't and it fails for some reason then can you imagine the rubbish we will get from the baggies if theirs goes ahead! I just think he or whoever needs to just think about a bit of reassurance for the people who will be with our beloved club for life.

{Ed001's Note - the only person talking crap is you. There would be no NDA involved in a discreet approach. Why are you arguing, as it is clear you have no idea what you are talking about.}

4.) 17 Jul 2016
17 Jul 2016 08:39:47
Cuz we are 3 weeks away from the new season without a good enough squad. can't u see that for yourself.

5.) 17 Jul 2016
17 Jul 2016 08:59:47
That's why people are "Bitching" though, all the on's and off's, and there have been a fair few the last week 'have come from people wanting to appear to be ITK or connected in some way, it's know surprise people are getting pissed off and tetchy.
The original poster might not have known diddly'about NDA's, perhaps now he knows a bit from the replies you gave, ain't that something to take away from this, don't shout a bloke down for showing his concern for the club he follows.

{Ed001's Note - I just wish people would calm down, if it was off the club would be able to say so then.}

6.) 17 Jul 2016
17 Jul 2016 09:07:31
I hear what you are saying Ed but Moxey and Morgan are running the circus and they aren't too well know for being upfront with information where the fans are concerned, hence all the agitation.!

7.) 17 Jul 2016
17 Jul 2016 09:08:25
This is not about you or the squad at the start of a season it's about forking out probably nearly £100 million or so in the first 12 months, so they will do it their way.

8.) 17 Jul 2016
17 Jul 2016 09:15:46
Ed001 you are the one being provocative! A NDA means no info being given out discreet or not because it isn't that discreet anymore! I've been patient but it's wearing thin now waking up to the news that our neighbours might have their takeover before us.

{Ed001's Note - seriously? This is a waste of time, you have not a clue what you are talking about and you won't listen so I won't bother trying again.}

9.) 17 Jul 2016
17 Jul 2016 09:23:37
Que sera sera - whatever will be, will be. Calm down, stop listening to every rumour that comes out and - WAIT.

10.) 17 Jul 2016
17 Jul 2016 09:26:16
• a takeover is happening
•it's a uk buyer
•Li and Mendez were out a while ago
•it's not a billionaire
• management and board are staying.

11.) 17 Jul 2016
17 Jul 2016 09:27:57
There is no obligation to tell the fans anything and we've seen what a circus there has been since the so called leak. Could you imagine what it would have been like if the club disclosed everything that was going on. Being a fan unfortunately didn't give us chairman privileges I only wish it did.

12.) 17 Jul 2016
17 Jul 2016 09:37:27
First post on here so hope I get it right! - If people remember rightly, when Sir Jack sold to Morgan, even after his identity was released it took weeks to conclude. And there had been a couple of months negotiations and ironing out of the finer points before that, that we were not privy too. it WILL happen but in it'so own time. No it isn't ideal so close to the start of the season but it is what it is, and I'm sure that if they can conclude stuff earlier they will, but it isn't as if they are buying or selling a second hand car. these things take time. "Keep the Gold Flag Flyin High! "

Possible reason for original plan involving AC Milan and Wolves link being ditched, if it ever was a plan is BREXIT. No more EU right to work in other member states. Young players not so easily moving between clubs.
Only a thought.

14.) 17 Jul 2016
17 Jul 2016 10:12:09
Putting everything into context the bad news is that Robin Li could well be the prospective buyer of WBA.

15.) 17 Jul 2016
17 Jul 2016 10:53:13
7a said who? The prospective new owners at Albion are reported in the mirror is China's wealthiest man Wang Jailin but again it's speculation. Even Jacket is resigned to the takeover as are the players so everybody has their wish with Morgan leaving let's just hope it's for the better.

16.) 17 Jul 2016
17 Jul 2016 11:27:08
This take over is starting to do people's head in and the worst thing is non of us truly know what is going on.

17 Jul 2016 11:38:25
Pmsl @ the brexit remark

You remain voters are still acting like Chicken Licken then?

18.) 17 Jul 2016
17 Jul 2016 12:06:04
Only in football do people think it's their right to know every detail of a proposed sale of a private company as it is apparently progressing. Despite Nda in place. I loathe moxey as much as anyone, but seriously. Morgan trying to get the best deal for himself? Morgan trying to protect text the interests of the club ongoing? Who knows, let them sort it then tell us. The change is needed, whether it's the right change we don't know. All people are seeing is Chelski Dollar signs, and the Rushton blood to heads is a tsunami.

I don't understand at all why the richest ever Chinese person would be interested in the Baggies. If they were I'd guess it would be for the Chinese home market. In my honest opinion, an owner could even pour the kind of huge money Man City had into them and they wouldn't be any more supportable in UK and Europe or America than they are now, ever, like Everton or Birmingham City, they just haven't got the brand ingredients to work with. They'd have to have a complete identity reinvention (maybe like was tried on Cardiff) which they wouldn't tolerate and wouldn't work anyway. Money can't buy everything, and it couldn't buy the Baggies an identity that would have mass market appeal in the West.

I suspect though some of these Chinese are badly advised, I bet Peace has claimed all sorts of things about the Baggies potential based on identity that are simply not true and could never be no matter what.

{Ed001's Note - or you could be wrong? This identity stuff is no longer true in the modern era. No one cares, they just want to support the team that wins or is owned or sponsored by locals. Years ago Liverpool were by far the biggest supported club in Dubai, now, thanks to local companies sponsoring them, Arsenal and Chelsea are up there with them. As are PSG, Man City, Man Utd, Real Madrid and Barca. No one cares about identity. Man City never had one out here before they were bought. Winning things brings in fans.}

Ulf I doubt billionaires would be taken in by a business man blowing smoke where the sun don't shine'but then I could see 'wm getting p'eed off with a wide boy trying to rinse them out for every last penny.
Let's just hope the later doesn't strike up the mol.

17 Jul 2016 12:36:40
Ulf how's the summer window going at Shrewsbury?

22.) 17 Jul 2016
17 Jul 2016 12:40:13
May be because you work in marketing Ulf but you put far too much emphasis on brand and identity in today's modern game. As Ed says, people either support the team that wins or they're local club. E. g. I know people that live in reading and half are Man U fans and the other half are Reading.

Stuff is cool in China because its cool in the West or has potential to be, like why they're interested in AC Milan. If they didn't care about what's cool, they could buy pretty much any club and get it to Prem cheaper than they could buy Baggies, and having done it themselves it would be better as it would be their achievement in their image, would acquire them fan devotion like just buying a Prem club wouldn't.

No working class club has made it to the big time with credibility except Man City, and only them because they have the limelight of the Manchester derdy with United, and a huge Manc background culture of wannabe gangster style bad attitude that fits with Arab's, having Lambo's, harems etc. That's cool in America and so it would be cool elsewhere.

West Brom haven't got any cool elements or potential in their brand at all. Badly advised / mislead and misunderstanding of Western culture, I guess it's feasible the Chinese would buy Baggies, but it can't be in the long run what I'd guess they'd be planning. Like buying a Morris Minor to convert into a Ferrari, Chinese Baggies trying to be flash would be like Wigan.

And I don't believe on the pitch success and winning things does necessarily change it for a club, Fulham spent years in Prem, got deep in a Euro competition, soon as the money stopped flowing they drop back and are no more than they were before, just like Blackburn. Bolton spent ages in Prem to no permanent effect, no change in their reach, no more supportable than before.

Though maybe you are right Ed, at least in terms of what the Chinese might fall for. Like Birmingham FC, working class, equivalent to Baggies, the former owners tried to make it a big deal, glamorous and inclusive like us or Villa, for a moment transiently it was, they made out to naive of Western culture Carson Yeung it was the real thing, he bought it hook line and sinker, it all collapsed back eventually and left him with nothing.

Now the former owners of Brum, having got hold of West Ham, another working class club but in Capital so more chance to convert it up into being glamorous, inclusive, and big, even in London they are struggling, and the more flash they get, with new stadium and reworked smart badge, the less credibility and coolness they have. It will take a very long time for them to turn it around and into something glamorous, inclusive, and bigger than it naturally is, even in the Capital.

In the long run, it's easier and cheaper to renovate a real silk purse than try and make one out of a sows ear. But maybe the Chinese are too naive to tell the difference and to know the true potential of each, and maybe have the money and home market to think they can steamroller it anyway.

{Ed001's Note - that is not what happened with Yeung or Brum.}

25.) 17 Jul 2016
17 Jul 2016 14:47:19
I know Yeung got done and that's why it went pear shaped, but it already wasn't going anywhere, Birmingham FC was nothing like what he thought he bought, the reason no one understood why he bought it and paid so much money for it in the first place. He was had.

He thought he was buying something shiny, the club of England's 2nd biggest City and so glamorous with real potential to be more with it's own momentum, but that wasn't Brum it was Villa and Brum had no chance of competing on that ground and establishing themselves as that. Them being in Prem wasn't making them glamorous, wasn't changing their identity and wasn't generating further reach (they're extra support was local, they just became more concentrated) . I think even if they'd had as much more money poured into them as Man City, they would still have been much less.

Think Lerner, as someone who understands Western culture and identities (his bank were brand / identity experts) , got it right seeing Villa was the real opportunity in Birmingham, but then he fell out with O'Neill and lost interest.

{Ed001's Note - Lerner lost interest when his ex-wife took most of his money in the divorce. As for Yeung, it was going nowhere because he was unable to invest as his assets were frozen.}
